Question pertaining to Choy Lee Fut's Bagua Hands

Hey everyone.

After reading the article on CLF's Bagua Hands in the current issue of KFTC Magazine I was left with more questions than answers. Was the author's contention that CLF's Bagua Hands facilitates multi-directional and responsive-adaptive striking?

This was what I told him:

I have not read the article but bagua hands is a concept not to be confused with the bagua style. Basically it is using the various strikes of clf such as gwa, sow, chop...in various combinations, directions and angles hence the concept of bagua (8 angles/directions). CLF has 9 bagua sets one for each side of the bagua diagram circle and 1 representing the center - bagua sum kuen or "heart of bagua".
