The new President has already been appointed and we will see the Great News of the Kingdom, for the people, of the people and by the people. A great Blessing It is when man attempts to anoint but God has done his duty! Amen!

The two last speeches had such HUGE contrast. Obama went positive, Romney went negative. Such different crowds too. Obama had the obligatory multicultural liberal pleasing background while Romney had the average white American family look in his background. Tons of kids. I didn't see any racial tokens.

Romney can win but his chances are low. Just because he has 40 something percent of the vote DOES NOT mean he has a 40 something percent chance of winning. That's not how it works. People don't seem to grasp that? The bottom line is that Obama has WAY more votes, if they vote. And if this was a popular vote and not an electoral college, Romney wouldn't stand a chance.

Romney can win if Obama supporters don't turnout in enough numbers. That is all. It all depends on whether they go and vote. Even if every Romney supporter votes, it still has nothing on the landslide that would happen if every Obama supporter voted. We also need to keep in mind that all these polls are based on LIKELY voters. Likely being the key word in that phrase.

When Obama loses...and loses because dem voters do not turn out...both happen for the same reason. Because Obama's economic record is a joke and be is not the man for the job.

As one who imagines himself an illusory Christian (not sure what that is but I hope my actions hsow the result) it is God who is All Powerful and NAture is his domain.
I, mere mortal of inconsequential influence acknowledge the power of the imperial universe. Good bad or indifferent, I am one with alleged Christain beilef in Divine Intervention, whether I believe or not. It is his Will. It'a ll an illusion and the Winner will win. Obviously:confused:

Even I am not sure what I just said but it was good, I think!

I'm Canadian and I think it doesn't matter who your president is.

Mittrack Robomney will be just fine.

Just don't let a Bush in there again please and thanks. Unless it's Jeb. He might be ok. But W kind of messed his chances up...

anyway, get out and vote american cousins!
make your voice heard and elect the one you want.

Remember, there are 14 candidates on that ballot and not just 2.

If I were a yank, I'd vote Johnson or Stein. But that's just me. You guys do what you gotta do, it's your country after all.

Yes, I find it ridiculous when the talking heads on the msm channels call the race "really close" or "it's tight"

why on earth they do that I have no idea. Romney is gonna be the chicken crossing the road a la hemingway.

Israel is only good for us as a launching pad to bomb other people. They are no more important than Guam when it concerns US interests abroad. But Jewish money in American politics, not to mention a new WW2 movie every couple of years out of Hollywood, work hard to guilt us into propping up their economy with US tax dollars.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

I think his point was that the problem with democracy is that people tend to be self-serving and because of that, they will vote for the one that will serve their interest and not that of the WHOLE of society the best.
Of course elected officials will NOT serve them anyways, but serve those that financed their election (prioritize).
A candidate with a platform of government reform and fiscal prudence will NOT be elected when going against one that promises to increase government spending on services to the people, even if the government HAS NO money for such.

I personally regard those as regulated through a system of law and taxation within the representative democracy. If people can give buy in to the shared pot that continually gets filled and taken from generation by generation you can see the sense of it.

I think that when corruption finds its way into power structures that you have to put in place a system of rigid checks and balances to ensure that all runs as optimally as possible and does what it is intended to do in all the various concerns it functions within.

The problem is not in giving the people their voice. The problem is corrupted minds that live life as if the world owes them something and the greed that ensues and that is no matter the political structure.

At the very least one could say that democracy, or rather representative democracy is the best place to develop those systems that make living better for the greater amount of people.

64% of all abortions in America are performed on girls identifying themselves as Evangelical Christians.

Typical. When you cannot defend one fact you switch topicscompletely. Abortions have nothing to do with grown ups getting killed because of barbaric laws.

Democracy is a lot more developed here than in some places in the Middle East where women get buried and stoned to death for adultery. Oh let me guess...that is the US's fault. We cause these barbarians to act barbaric due to past injustices.

In the realm of conciliatin and Americanness, I think that Obama should consider Romney for 3 special positions:
1. Secretary of State
2. Ambassador to UK
3. Ambassador to Libya.

Though I do not trust Romney's foreign policy, his expertise, being put to the test, will make him an excellent candidate for 2016.
I can swear on my life and 100% certainty that if the election turned out different, Obama would not even be consiered for dog catcher postion in Botswana!

If Lee hooks up with chicas who are grateful, he will reap some reward for that.

It's not about bragging rights, it's about feeling good. And if somebody is secure enough to find satisfaction where others are afraid to go, good for them. "I ain't hatin'" lol.

I guess it depends on how one defines quality and what their motives are for their assessment.

The rating system doesn't just equal looks. A woman could look like a bombshell, be great in the sack but have the personality of wet mud... Then she's still not a 10. 10 is the whole deal. Looks, personality, sex, intelligence, education... There are plenty of beautiful women but one who has everything, not just looks, is truly a 10.

Understandable. I keep forgetting that most people use that scale only for looks... but looks is part of it. Remember the hot crazy scale from How I Met Your Mother? Well there's also a relation between compromises on some of the other variables. But you can compromise too much on any of them. And as the wall street cats know, beauty fades in the long run and so do most men's libidos so it's better to have a woman who is smart than one who is beautiful or good in bed.

In BC up until a few years ago you couldn't get any alcohol on Sunday and on any other day you could only get it at a government owned and operated store aptly named the BC liquor store. Now we are one step from having it sold in 7/11s. Won't be long now. Prolly around the same time when maryjane is officially decriminalized. 10 years, MAX. It's already tolerated. I have had my share of fine looking hens, but I much prefered not to worry with compitition. I picked most of them up in clubs where I would work, and everyone and his coon dog was hitting on the pretty ones. Most of them went home alone, so I didn't waste time fooling around with them. I got cut over her once, and guys were fighting over her constantly. She could do things you would never believed possible sex wise. Well, I was wrong. And this is one of those times where I love being wrong. Turns out Obama could have lost Florida and Ohio AND EVEN Virginia. Even with those in the Romney column, Colorado would have still been enough. Romney lost BIG. So sad the state of the media, calling this election close. It was never close and until the next census(in 2020), the GOP has no chance. Virginia rated higher in votes for Obama than the national average. If the GOP can't even hold Virginia, where are they going to go? In fact, if not for some blatant gerrymandering in the past, the GOP wouldn't even have the house.

Time to restructure. Do you think the GOP can restructure their social positions and still be the GOP? They must feel surrounded. All these gay marriages, weed smokers and immigrants.

Comparing the Silver vs Rasmussen polls, the latter was always partisan so he ignored the data to the extent that he skewed the results! Rasmussen and others like him had to create false impression to get the voters to believe what they did but they could not make the fix. Add the Voter ID strategy, whereas if this strategy actually was put into force, it would have worked to secure Romney the coveted White Horse Prophesy fulfillment.

The GOP partisans sure had the media follow thru for them this time. I am sick of hearing liberal media this, socialistas that. The truth is that the media called this race tight because of their fear of being wrong. Truth is that this was never a real contest. Obama made a ton of dumb mistakes that Romney tried to capitalize on and Obama still won by a HUGE margin. This was a landslide. Why won't anyone see this? Just look at the numbers. Afraid of being wrong and milking the ratings. Its all entertainment.

I can't get too upset at the gerrymandering because they all do it and it was our (Dems) fault for not getting out in numbers in 2010. You're right though, nationally more votes have come in for dems in house elections than reps. But the way the system is set up plus incumbent boost, simply winning majority isn't enough to swing the house.

I don't really see any way, in the short term, that the GOP can restructure in a meaningful way. They've backed themselves too far into the corner with their ideology. Restructuring would alienate some of the stalwarts in their base. They could do it, but that shift would take time and I'd have to think they'd suffer some years of mediocrity. Those at the top just won't accept that. Luckily, if the way the senate went this year is any indication, it might not matter in the long run anyways. I think the Reagan Era GOP is coming to a close and the old gray faced white men are becoming more and more insignificant.

It will be interesting to see what they come up with. They know they need to move towards the center to win, but the old base won't be down for that. If we're lucky they'll have a massive internal fracture and become two parties. It would be nice to see a third party taken seriously in the US. The far right, of course, would never win a national election, but they could still win seats in the house. The moderate splinter would then grow and take more moderate votes away from the Dem's making up for the loss of their old base. That would actually make for tight elections. Not media tight, but actually tight.

I realize that is their dilema crafted by the likse of FOX (O'Riley, Lambaugh, Trump, Sunnunu, Rove, etc) and others but values that represent a majority of American are the motivating force and not the colour of politics. Essentially insert any minority group and you will see a major player in Obama's reelection. Romney wasn't able to reach the 40% Hispanic vote, wasn't even a consideration in the black vote, and Asians made up a nice bit for Obama as well. Interestingly, if you look at the popular vote, the number of non-theists in this country control a voting base greater than the difference between Obama and Romney. Now, I'm not going to assume all non-theists voted Obama, but I would have to believe that a sizable majority did. Its now a matter of necessity that atheists/agnostics/humanists are given acknowledgment in the political sphere. In the next couple election cycles I wouldn't be surprised to see atheists in a similar position as the gay voters are right now. Lastly, I don't think either party really predicted the youth would be as prevalent as they were this time around. Elections are no longer solely the realm of silver haired retirees in ugly pants.

We are each and everyone of us sharing DNA with Kalahari San Bushmen.
According to the scientific method and record, it is they who were the first people and from them all of us came.

the divisions of humanity come from our own fear and prejudice and have no foundation in reality except for that misguided perception. Majority/Minority. Meh, these are control mechanisms and classist tools which are destructive. they need to go away and stop being used.

you aren't a minority, you're human. period. No matter where you go. By all means, enjoy whatever positive identity you may develop from taht thing you feel makes you special or different, but bear in mind that this is just another construct as well. :)

Like 10 years ago I bought Journey of man, the book, and I loved it. The doc was pretty sweet too. I've been interested ever since. I made a thread about it a few years ago. Not really what this thread is about. You just enjoy being didactic ay!

This is about perception, not reality. Politics man POLITICS!

My Mormon friends stated that many did vote for Obama. Harry Reid is a Mormon but he is as decent as any since he does not put it out there as something special for status or reward.

If I used the above as a template, then obviously I would insinuate that Romney would have won all states. My own limited analyses would be as follows:
1. People, tried to be polite, based on their state apparatus
2. They answered just to give a false positive to be treated favourably per the caller

In my own local area, there are quite a few Obama supporters, who were assailed for their honesty by Republicans of a certain TP group. To avoid being hassled, they answered just to get away from those kinds of people! They made their vote count, as it were!

The reason I ask is because Mormons tend to be less moderate than other Christians. At least where I live, anyways. I do know some lip service Mormons, but I don't count them.

See you had to go there and bring "evilution" and that flabbidy "genetics" into this...you must be communist...

"White" was only the majority for so long because they weren't categorized in anywhere near as many sub groups that other "colors" are. Had they taken an anthropological or genetic view instead of a socially influenced view the picture would be much different. Too much focus on skin color.
For example: Indians(the ones from India) are more like Europeans than Asians. Native Americans are directly descended from Asiatic people.

The underlined part is quite possibly an incorrect model from current evidence. That's what we were all taught, but most probably (if you believe the newer archaeological data) the earliest new worlders were descended from the Solutrean people. If that were the case, then a likely result would be genetic mixing form these individuals and those crossing the Bering. I believe certain native tribes actually contain genetic markers from all points, not just Asian. But I could be wrong on that.

Well, they share common markers with most Asiatic peoples. That doesn't rule out the possibility that there is other blood too. But there are clearly more mongoloid markers than anything else. To date anyways. Unless something really recent changed. If so, please share. You talking about the whole "tool" thing? It's neat, but I'll take genetic evidence before that. Soutrean hypothesis is only 15 years old. We'll see. The Bering crossing is most likely.

I do believe that the first modern Europeans to come settle in the new world were remnants of the broken and scattered Templars. I believe others came before them, but only isolated incidents where no clear line was established.

The GOP needs to wash as much Romney off it's face as possible. What a freakin disaster this guy is. Now that he lost and will never get another shot, he says more of what he really thinks. And what he really thinks is typical of somebody of his "class and breeding". Yall need to DeRomnify real quick if you want even a slim shot in 16.

Its not just the tool thing. You can tell where a person is "from" genetically by measuring the frequency of certain alleles in their genome, alleles which are particular to certain groups of people. The trouble is finding remains from these people. We're talking something like 13000 years in poor preservation conditions. Luckily though there is also strata. There's a lot to consider, like that they had burial practices that could have broke level through digging and such, but they have ways of analyzing that via angulation and such. Archaeology isn't my field so I can't give specifics. One of the few interesting things of note in the area I live is that they have such sites that are being excavated. An ex of mine is all into that stuff. There's more I'd like to say, but can't. I'd be scooping their research. All I can say is pay attention to the Smithsonian on this stuff over the next few years...

Then there is a "new" theory out regarding ET impact. It's a bit more involved because its not just about people, its mainly relevant to explaining certain climate conditions (ie. Younger Dryas). There's a lot to still be proven, but they're finding particles scattered in these sites that are indicative of ET impact. Mainly superheated glass and nano-diamonds. The latter of which most of the ET impact critics have failed to comment on, at least from last I read. Its been a while, that girl turned slightly crazy so I no longer have my inside source...

Edit: I should clarify. Its not whether more traits are Asian or European, etc. Its about whether or not that specific allele frequency beats out the norm for that genetic group. In other words, they may very well have more Asian "markers" (alleles) but if specific alleles pertaining heavily to Europeans are found in greater abundance than should be found for Asians, then that it a heavy indication that the genotype contains elements found in European inheritance that can't be explained simply by environmental factors. It would suggest descent.

Let em fall I say. They need to do more than de-Romnify. They have an inherent flaw in their ideology. They made their bed with the extremists in Nixon's Southern Strategy and with the fundamentalists when Reagan catered to the "Moral Majority." Thing is, more and more people are considering them to be anything but moral. There's no way I can see them moving forward without either dumbing down the population even more (and lets be real we're pretty dumb as is, how much more can they get from that before diminishing returns?) or they have to disregard their social platform. This is going to alienate the very base that's been keeping them relevant. Ultimately they won't have much choice in the matter, but I see no way they can really survive without going through some years of mediocrity, much like the dems back a couple decades.

Thing is, from their response I don't think they have it in em. They're thrown Mitt under the bus as expected. They've said he wasn't conservative enough. They aren't seeing what's blatantly obvious. The party needs to be reshaped. That extreme base is dying off (average voting age was 65 this time around) and this generation is less tolerant of that level bigotry. Not to say its all roses, but its moving away from that. Reps just aren't willing to face that fact head on though it seems.
