You really need to start opening these things up to Canadians. It's not like we're overseas.

You really need to start opening these things up to Canadians. It's not like we're overseas. It's actually a legal issue. To include Canada would make these sweepstakes international. That falls under all sorts of legal restrictions. These laws are set up to protect against international money laundering and such, but they still apply to small promotional sweepstakes like ours. There's nothing we can do about that. Sorry.

Besides, this one was limited only to the S.F. Bay Area, because the ROE tickets were only for good locally.

You would think that with all the freakin trade agreements we have it would be easier. Isn't that always the case tho, something normal and harmless is illegal because some douche tried to get an unfair advantage.

You've seen our sweepstakes page. We are required to post all those rules by law. And we adhere to the law because we want to continue to offer the sweepstakes. It's a great promotion for our advertisers and a nice function for our readership.

Canada is actually more bothersome in shipping martial arts gear. Canadian customs can be sticklers about anything related to martial arts. MAM (http://www.martialartsmart.com/) once had a shipment of staffs held up at customs. Staffs (http://www.martialartsmart.com/weapons-staffs-batons.html)? Seriously? Oh Canada! ;)
