The Philosophy of Real Fighting

Hi guys,

I have a couple of thoughts the philosophy of real life combat. As a strict follower of the bushido, I believe it's important only ever to enter into honourable battles.

A few years ago I nearly lost face at the hands of a reckless ruffian in my neighbourhood where I grew up. Day after day he would shout stuff at me and call me names, but because of my mediation training I was able to stay calm. One day however I saw him insulting another, weaker kid from the same area. Enough was enough. As the bully was shouting insults at the weakling for being fat, I walked over, punched and kicked him in the face several times until he fell to the pavement. As he was lying on the floor covered in his own blood, I picked up a bin from nearby and threw it on his body. Needless to say we never heard from him again.

I told this story to my teacher who was extremely proud of me for acting in such an hounourable manner. I just wish more people would act the way I did on that fateful day.

I would appreciate any thoughts you have regarding the philosophy of real life fighting.

One time I was on an Elite Mission to fulfill the requirements of the third Warrior Empowerment Ritual as given to me by Grandmaster Tojo Makinori. I can't reveal the details of the Mission, but I ended up crossing paths with an unassuming Chinese teenager. I knew at that point I would have to use every method of genjutsu because his Kung Fu was probably at an Elite level. There were no paper sacks or plastic sacks laying around, so my Tanuki-undo was useless. I challenged him to match of Push Hands, which is a kind of fighting using real internal power. As we crossed hands, I slapped his hand, and punched him in the eyebrow. Then I stepped back and pelted him with pebbles, without mercy. To finish him off, I folded a frisbee up and stuffed it into his mouth. You just imagine what happened next.

I believe one should use all available techniques that have been handed down to us from the ancients.

Once, when I was a very young man, I got into one of my first fights. I was weak, but I had spirit. He kicked my ass, and left me lying there. As he walked away, my burning soul powered me enough to grab his leg and say "no!"

He then proceeded to stomp on me.


I learned, on that day, that fury must be powered by strength, and that injustice is not something that can ever be beaten. You can only beat to submission those around you before they can exploit your chi.

How do you get from one day to the next, after a humiliating defeat like that? Why did you not commit seppuku?

I have mixed humiliation and pride! The pride of having such a young daughter who is so skilled at making up the rules as she goes along stays my hand holding the knife at my own throat!

As an aside, have you taken the opportunity to watch her YouTube vid where she makes up her own catchy song from a Tagalog tune she doesn't know? It's worth 2 mins of your time. :)

I'll have to look at that, I remember the post then forgot to watch when I get home. I have an idea, I'll put it on at the office right now and we will all watch it lol.

LOL! She doesn't either. That was mostly English with a bit of gibberish to make things rhyme. She was just making it up as she went along!

The problem for me is the song gets stuck in my head! :eek:
