Was doing a leg sweep during an OYD class and kicked the guys shin on accident, crunch, heh

Training with your toes taped together feels wierd. Anyone else ever get a stupid injury training?

i broke my toes about 2 months ago. three of them. cracked them when I tried to jump too high and land too softly while executing a jump kick.

the crap thing is they don't set toes in casts or anything..but tape em instead and shove you full of painkillers

I broke my big toe a couple of months ago playing at Muay Thai. Then a couple of weeks ago my Sihing in my Ving Tsun school accidentaly broke the second toe on the other foot. After the accident he was worried it was my broken toe...well, it is now I told him! ;)

I broke the three smaller toes on my right foot sparring, years ago--repeatedly kicked my partner's elbow. You would think that after the first painful kick, I wouldn't do that, but noooooooooo. Then, a year later (still years ago), I broke the middle toe on my left foot, again kicking my partner's elbow.

Annoyed, but I was still able to train without missing a night. My contact sparring was very light for a few weeks, so I focused on speed, accuracy and technique during those times.

Just this past August, I broke my right hand--middle knuckle--going for a superman break. My left hand was fine (even though I'm right handed--weird).

One of my friends broke his elbow landing on a matt after a high jump kick. He landed wrong and unexpectedly in a split and we all though the reason he turned totally pale was something really wrong--but he broke his elbow (he came down on it behind him as he went into his split).

What do they do for a broken knuckle? I broke my middle knuckle on my right hand two years ago and I never went to a doctor or anything. Now there's a chip missing that you can feel if you touch my knuckle.

A broken knuckle is the most annoying thing in the world. When I would stick my hand in a cereal box, if part of the box brushed against my knuckle it would be almost unbearable pain. It turned black and swole up to the size of a nickel. This guy looked at it and goes "dude, you're never going to be able to punch with that hand again."

But even now, if I'm too rough with it I can feel a bit of pain there...

What is the proper procedure for a broken knuckle? Do you think there's anything that can be done for mine now?

I don't know. I didn't go to the doctor until 2 weeks later because it was still painful when anything brushed up against it. The x-ray showed it had been broken--but not chipped. He told me not to use it and it would heal--and told me not to punch anything until Dec/Jan and not to break wood until early next year. I wrapped it in an ace bandage to keep me from using it for a couple more weeks. I pretty much felt right away that it was broken, but I didn't want a cast because those things are annoying, so I just didn't use the hand. It's healed now--I've lightly hit the bag and my sparring partners with it. It feels fine. I won't break wood with it though until next year.

Sorry, Iron, but you'll have to find someone smarter than I to find out what the proper procedure is. I didn't follow it myself.

Have you gone to a specialist to see if there's anything that you can do. I mean if a dentist can fix a chipped tooth... I know that's an over simplification, but there should be hope.

If it is misaligned, press the hand so as to align it. It wouldn't go back immediatelt or noticeablly~. After each pressing, open and close your hand several times. This should help it get used to the new setting.

If you are missing a piece, then see the busted nuckle and think "close" however often in a day.

If it's both wait to think "close". Think "align". Thinking "align" should cause your body to work at resetting your nuckle while you are conciously doing other things.

Doing any of these thinkings immediately before you fall asleep could be very beneficial.

Very some such, perhaps might have been, likely say some, some not.
