Does anyone know where to get a vest that has approx. 30-40LBS worth of weights in it. I am starting a new stance training program and would like to get one.
Any info would help.
Thanks,

140.00?? that price is outrageous for a 40lb vest. I posted a link on the main forum about a weighted vest - 80 lbs, but you of course can lighten it if you want. I'll try to find the thread. The price, if I remember correctly, was 89.95

here is a 20lb. vest, which you can order additional weights for:

at 109.95, it expensive too, but this one is different, as it contours to your body instead of just hanging and getting in your way, as other vests can.

Good Lookin out 7, I talked with a couple of my peers and they thought $140.00 was a rip off to. This one you showed is a bit better to-quality and user friendly.

Thanks Bro.

Keep in mind that with a little work, you could probably make your own for a lot cheaper than $100.

What is your new training method that requires a weighted vest? I'm just curious.

It starts out with sitting in horse stance for as long as I can, from there we transition to going through stances and holding them, the second phase involves adding weight to the vest. The final stage(which is down the road) involves putting someone on your shoulders and going through the stances. The added weight of the human being plus the offset weight due to tallness will make anyone stances impecable.

Cool training, bro.

here are some other stance training methods you may which to try...

horse stance on bricks with the fat surface on the ground.

horse stance on bricks with the skinny surface on the ground.

horse stance on bricks with the smallest side on the ground.

Stances on plum blossom poles. Keep in mind that they don't have to be high like in the movies. A few inches will suffice, so I hear.

Note that I haven't tried any of these, I've just read about them in books. But, I plan to use the brick method in the future.

Good luck, let us know how your training goes.

it's ****ing me off that I can't find the one I'm looking for, as I want to order it myself... It is used for training firefighters, and can weigh up to 80lbs. - the vest is 40, and you can get 2 20lb attachments to go on your shoulders, which for a fireman would simulate carrying a hose. It was a nice vest. 89.95 for the vest, can't remember how much the attachments were. I'll find it...

Iron,
Thanks for the tips, I am trying to convince my friend to let me build the plum blossom poles in his backyard;) Im starting to wear on him. I have been trying to improv on the weighted vest until I can get the cash by using chains around the neck and the double iron palm bags over the shoulder.

7, thanks for posting the links, I know where to go when Im ready for the vest.

Shaolin36, until you are ready to order the vest, always be checking on eBay. You never know when you might find an awesome deal...

You may also want to check a local Play-It-Again sports.

Good luck,
