Someone in another thread (sorry I don't remember which thread off hand, one of the long ones I think) said that kung fu forms and dance are basically interchangeable.

I thought of that comment yesterday while I was watching this movie.

If she was wearing a kung fu uniform and was in a temple that would be a snake form.

Dance and Kungfu have nothing to do with each other. That was snake engine poonji. :) Dancers wish they could take credit for TCMA forms. Kungfu has no men in tights.

Dance and Kungfu have nothing to do with each other.

I don't know about that. When you perform solo from, it's no difference from dancing. TCMA is 2 person art. When you do it "solo", you are "dancing" by definition.

When people say taolu is dancing, why do cma people get upset? Dancing done well is difficult to do. I wish I were able to dance well, and it would probably be as useful as martial arts.

I personally find dancing pretty easy, but from teaching I know it is really hard for some people to even keep a two step on beat. Since childhood I have done gymnastics, dancing and MA's. I find them all to be quite similar in ALMOST every way. A lot of transferable skills there.
