I don't have any resources for the fan for you to look up, but I do have a question for you.

What is shichi tora do? I'm not sure I have heard of that style.

shichi = seven
tora = tiger
do = way

On the net, I found a school called seven tigers...may be the same place.

Just curious, why the fan?

Is it part of your school or whats your interest about?

Hey all,
"shichi tora do" is basically a combination of karate and kung fu fundamentals (mantis and seven star styles of kf). The emphasis is on getting behind the opponent. I may be biased but I think it's a very dynamic style taking power and technique from both schools of thought. I used to study in Cheektowaga, a suburb of Buffalo, NY.
The fan kata that I have seen are just so fluid and beautiful but are balanced with sharp slices and effective blocks that I was quite intrigued.

I have a book called tai chi killing fanplay. It was cheap and I got it more out of curiosity, but it is rather clever, including hitting with the closed fan and distracting/ blocking view with open fan and kicking to body. It's a cool form. av. from yih mei books. :D

I got it at a store here in Boston. If you have a Chinatown near you check it out.
