I am wondering if someone had already posted or talked about The thrive written by Brendan Brazier. Any thoughts or comments about his vegan nutrition guide to optimal performance in sports and life. I am over 50 and still looking for best ways to improve and optimize my performance.

Thanks,

Mig

You don't find many elite level athletes that are vegan's and those that are supplement their training quite heavily.
If you want optimum performance you have to experiment a bit with what feels best AND gives your body what it needs to recover and rebuilt.
Personally, for me, I have tried the vegan/vegetarian way a few times in the past and it didn't work for me BUT know some that it worked great for ( with supplementation though).

The "one size fit all" rarely works but adding vegan nutrition supplementation per the previous response is great intervention. I personally cannot tolerate all vegan meals over 2 weeks so that told me I had to slowly incorporate some level of plant origin food into my diet. It seems that people's place of origin "dictates" what they can handle (tolerate) in their diet along with family history of disease.

I have found that when I an sick (flu) lessen carbohydrates intake, tired and fatigued (eat less of everything and rest instead), control sleep wake cycle, and generally lessen intake of red meat while increasing beans and perhaps soups. I am still clarifying the Path so it is an ongoing process!
