They use chest to hit chest. One can also use his shoulder to hit the other's chest in a 90 degree angle. The shoulder strike can be used to set up many things.

We use drills like this at my school in preparation for studying the Praying Mantis Kung Fu form, Ba Zhou (Eight Elbows).
So is it a conditioning exercise for that part of the body, or is it a combat drill?
