I'm in love with the erhu and guqin especially. I def want to learn to play both; erhu first, and then the guqin.

My favorites are probably:

Horse Racing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfoN8gjMBy8)
Moon Palace (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q50tYTUBsc)
The Fisherman and the Woodcutter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlmVON2QiAE)

I also wonder if I wouldn't love The Fisherman and the Woodcutter so much if it weren't for the amazing fight scene from Hero?

I like Chinese folk music, so when I went to the shop in China, I asked them if they only included traditional instruments on the tracks on the CDs. they said yes, so I brought them home, and what do you know, a filthy electronic backing track which spoilt it all. This was in a specialist music shop.
If people in China can only appreciate erlu and guqin with a backing track like in a dodgy KTV, it is a sad state of affairs for real traditional music. Mind you, this state of affairs doesn't only exist in music.
