Can you apply different Jins for push and pull?

In the following clip, this girl used push and pull Jin (force) to take her opponent down 3 times in 47 seconds.

Sometime people like to talk about

- silk reeling Jin,
- 7 bows Jin,
- ... Jin,

Do you think that different Jin can truly make any difference when you apply "single leg" like this? Your thought?

Sure, it can make a difference.

If the person does not use coordinated body force in the pull, they will have to use more arm force to get the same result. They will have to expend more energy in mechanically inefficient ways, and can become more open to counters, or waste more time struggling instead of pulling off a clean technique.

If the person can use more short force, the attacks can be more hidden and give the opponent much less chance to react. Also give the person better chance in switching up a technique or setup.

In your video, she missed her first attempt.

She might have had a better chance if she committed more and used a sharp explosive snap and sink on the pull.

Using recoil of the pull, go into the push. If her body is relaxed, she uses her own internal recoil to power the left hand to the leg, and doesn't take much energy because she doesn't kill her own internal momentum.

Skillful force makes a difference between touch and throw vs. struggling and eventually overpowering the other person.

Using a circling or spiraling jin to deal with a straight jin (push and pull). We channel it to a different direction and defeat the opponent.

At first, we have to learn how to use straight (zhi) and horizontal (heng) jin against each other.
