Our previous system was pretty old so it took a much longer time to update than anticipated. Plus the forum has grown into such a monster that it's a lot to move. We are now on a more stable server and you'll find some new whistles and bells here that we hope you'll enjoy. We're still working out some of the bugs of course, so stay with us as we get this beast back up and running at full capacity.

I haven't received my bell or whistle!!

Can I expect them before Christmas?

I was planning to re-gift them to my 5 year old daughter!

She really wants a penny whistle if you don't mind and "silver bells" are also more in line with the season.:)

Welcome back everyone!

Ching sifu:

I have a friend who tried to register about 2 wks-4 wks before the forum went down. He is not able to register... there's a clue question of who is the publisher/sponsor -- he tried all types of answers and still can't get in.

His intended screen name "Gong Fu Dog"

please advise.

Thank you in advance!

The new site is nice. It works way better than healthcare.gov.

Your friend can't get past our forum's first chamber (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?66735-The-36-Chambers-of-the-KungFuMagazine-com-Forum), eh? And you can't help him?

Greetings,

I now know what it is to be off the Wheel of Reincarnation. I started to feel really good after a while. And really good? Well, she just loved it!

My bad... my friend Thomas Holtmann aka Gong Fu Dog, put in martialarstmart - he is awaiting the email to confirm registration and hasn't received it yet... it's been a month if not more - he has also checked his spam/trash folders for an email from here and nothing.

What should he do at this point?

Thank you in advance.

The new design looks good kungfumagazine!

Browsing and posting with iPad air that I got on Thanksgiving day.

The forum looks great with many new features.

Cool.

Is it too late to add a thumbs up or like button on posts? Rather than be like "yeah, I agree", we can just click a button of approval. I know others mentioned it before, but I dunno if it's even an option on vbulletin. If you can do that, can you make a "nobody cares" troll button too?

We should also have buttons such as:

- I agree with you right now but I reserve my right not too if I can find any reason in the future.
- I don't agree but I don't want to argue with you.
- You should ask your teacher/coach/Sensei/...
- Is this a you talk and we all listen thread?
- What you have said is against my style principle and I don't do that in my style.
- Whatever.
- ...

Those buttons will save us a lot of typing. :)

Unfortunately trolling and flame wars bring more hits than anything constructive. I'm just thinking a ton of these posts could be summed up with a like and dislike button. :) Sometimes it can be hard to find the gems buried up in here when you don't have the desire to read 400 posts that say the same ****.

After all, this ain't facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kung-Fu-Tai-Chi-Magazine/135964689362).

Our fb has been blowin up (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?63878-Kung-Fu-Tai-Chi-facebook-Milestones), but man, just when you think you can't find any martial arts enthusiasts that are more foolish than those here on the KFM forum, then you see the fb comments. :p

Agreed. The great philosopher Theodore Adorno, in his book Negative Dialectics, attacks 'constructive criticism' as, very often, an ideological control tactic, forcing us ever closer to a situation where only obsequious mutual celebration is allowed. This is in turn reinforced by an ideology of 'good manners' that totally closes down that very thing that would actually be constructive - i.e. robust, passionate resistance to crap.
