As someone that began physiotherapy last week to get such shoulder problems sorted, I thank you for your tips. For my part it was more the case of too much lap sau drilling with over zealous training partners lap-ing too strongly (lap, my bong response then another lap trying to rip my bong down), rather than my using the bong as a block as you describe.

Thanks for this. As an older WC practitioner who already has some rotator cuff issues (not specifically from WC) I find this very useful in avoiding further injuries.

The critique of typical Lap-Sau drills really rings true too. Good stuff.

If you really want to keep the shoulder from being hurt, try to never make the hands tense, and always find a way to relax it and you should be OK if you can stay calm.

If you really want to keep the shoulder from being hurt, try to never make the hands tense, and always find a way to relax it and you should be OK if you can stay calm.

ali, you are correct relaxing really helps. very dangerous for the rotater cuff if you tense up.
