Chu Shong Tin Dies

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qlAhn02lAzo/U9cN2WSbgcI/AAAAAAAAKE4/RLVtC51qAeU/s1600/cst.gif

Our sources have sadly confirmed the passing of Chu Shong Tin at age 81.

Chu Shong Tin (Tsui Sheung Tin) was Yip Man's third Hong Kong student. He was known as the "King of Siu Nim Tao" for his dedication to the first set. He taught Wing Chun for over 60 years beginning his training under Yip Man at 17 years old.

His teachings of the hidden power of Siu Nim Tao (http://www.orangecountymartialarts.info/2007/02/hidden-power-of-siu-nim-tau.html), referred to as Nim Lik, continues to influence the art on a global scale across Wing Chun practitioners of many different lineages.

He will be missed in the Wing Chun world but his teachings will live on through his students across the world.

All honor to his name!

I had the good fortune of meeting him and wong Shon Leung in California and texas and talking with both and chi saoing with them both
when they came on their Vancouver, California and Texas tour in the 80s. Gracious, knowledgeable and sharing people- both of them.

The first generation of Ip man's Hong Kong proteges are fading fast. Ho kam Ming is about 90 now.

Hello,

A sad loss indeed.

In only got to know of him through books, articles, and Youtube videos.
Only from observation it looked like he embodied key tenets of the art...simple...direct...efficient.

For those who believe, he will finally join his Wing Chun ancestors in Nirvana.

Rest in Peace.
