春节期间，有学生、友人来电询问，今年美国圣荷西“功夫太极拳日”“美国功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛”的活动 还举办吗？主动咨询活动情况，表达一种关注、兴趣，或许蕴藏着向往参加，跃跃欲试的心态……。

前数日收到「美国功夫杂志社」传来2015年5月16-17日在美国加州圣荷西会议中心举办“第七届美国功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛”的规程及第4届圣荷西“功夫太 极日”活动的通知后，就及时转发了。顺便也鼓动他们组团队，前往美国加州佛利蒙市、圣荷西市参加这二项颇有 特色的武术展示活动。

不论“赛事”，还是“功夫日”的活动，纯属民间，是武术技术的交流，更是武术健身的展示。中国武术人众早已 适应这种“重在参与”的活动，当然获取奖牌，可愉悦心理，也是检验武术训练成果的手段。前几届，专程前往参 加活动的已有数百人次。当然，也有优秀者获得“虎爪精英赛”（美国《虎爪基金会》与《野生救援协会》合作的 赛项）冠军的殊荣。去年北京“武术人”还组团前往参赛与演练，为大会增添更多中国武术元素。

人们关注“美国功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛” 美国圣荷西“功夫太极日”活动，并不无道理，它是由美国《功夫太极杂志社》社长简琪女士牵头创办与实施的。 前者于创办于2009年，已是第7届了。后者2012年拉开序幕，今是第4届。

简琪，1968年获台湾中兴大学学士学位后，入美阿拉巴马州奥本大学深造，获硕士学位。1984年她与韩裔 先生吴章源创办《虎爪集团》经营体育用品后，由于生意的发展，逐步介入武术圈子，1994年她果断地接手了 ，仅出刊一年的美国英文版《功夫太极杂志》，经多次改版，重新编制，出版发行至今。现仍是世界上英语系国家 中唯一专门介绍中国武术的英文杂志。这既给中华传统武术文化在世界的宣传创造了平台，也在经营体育用品中， 增加了中国武术器械、用品、服饰诸多品种的介绍，可说全方位地推介中国武术。

她早期介入“武术”时，对武术的认识是粗浅的、模糊的。但自从接手武术杂志的瞬间，已下决心将中华武术文化 的传扬，作为人生事业奋斗中不可缺失的重要部分。为此她努力探求武术、投身武术。除了频频与美国武术人交流 、虚心求教，使武术杂志，在美国有了好声誉。但她知道这仅为起步，杂志必须有真正的中国武术元素，才能办得 真实、应时、精彩、活泼。随着世界武术形势的发展，要做到这点就必须到武术的发源地中国寻找真正、真实的武 术。从此她经常出入中国，与中国武术界的管理人、专家、教练、运动员、民间武师……广泛接触，不断地改革“ 杂志”的形式、内容。几乎每期出版的杂志中，均登有武术人物、武术赛事、拳种、器械、功法以及武术民众活动 的精美的照片、文字报道。现时的她，对中国武术已积累了丰富的知识与经验，几成了武术的“内行人”。特别是 她近年在出版的“功夫太极杂志”的基础上，还更上层次地了创办“圣荷西功夫太极日”“美国功夫杂志社国际武 术锦标赛”活动，让中华传统武术文化，不仅在美国，还有许多欧美国家，得到有效的宣传，推介，产生了良好的 影响，也得到世界各国从事武术运动及选择武术为健身项目的民众的关注。 简琪，每年亲自执导“武术3件事”，不仅有了 “武术女强人”的称道，更重要的是她所从事的武术事业得到升华与发展的写照。“简琪”这一名字在美国、仍至 世界许多国家的武术界中传扬。同时，也得到中国武术人的关注，这位弘扬中华武术的美藉女华人，逐渐被人所熟 悉。

早年，《功夫太极杂志》进入国内后不久，笔者从友人手中借阅，顺手翻阅一下，顿感纸质、色彩、照片等质量， 好过那时的国内武术杂志，因不识英文，终不甚在意。不过此时也从人们的口传中，知道该杂志的创办人叫“简琪 ”，是美藉女华人。

此后，在中国举办的各种形式、类型的国内、国际武术大赛及相关的活动中，笔者也曾见到她的身影，个子不高， 架着眼镜、中文地道、语速颇快、动作麻利，时不停地拍摄照片，时与人攀谈……，那时与她无直接的交流，但对 她留下是个认真、负责、不断求知、为宣传中华武术，努力去办好美国武术杂志的良好印象。

后10来年间，我的美国友人冯尔权，多次邀我去美讲学。他与简琪在美的住地虽同为一区，但因我生性不善扰人 ，故均未与她有联络。2007年11月我应邀参加了，由原国际武术联合会技术委员会主任、中国武术国家级教 练、中国武术九段吴彬先生策划，在美国芝加哥市举办的“2007年国际武术公开赛暨传统功夫大赛”后，经旧 金山回沪。在旧金山过夜，简琪女士接待了吴彬我们一行，这是有意义的夜聚，海阔天空，终离不开武术海外传播 这一主题。这次笔者可说是正式认识了简琪社长。

2012年由于误读了美国奥克莱某校举办武术赛事的邀请函，导致匆忙抵美，闹了一场“空城计”。好在由冯尔 权先生，临时安排我在加州的讲学活动，特别值得一说的是，不知怎么地，简琪女士获知我到加州，即主动联系冯 尔权，并安排好对我的采访，使此行另具特色。此次采访，也让我对简琪倾心于武术事业的情况，有了进一步的认 识与了解。也给了我机会，竟连续3年介入由《功夫太极杂志社》举办的圣荷西“功夫太极日”及5—7届的“美 国功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛”。

从冯尔权住家驱车前往《功夫太极杂志社》，路程仅用了1小时。可以说是近距离。简琪在大门口将我俩迎进门， 进了编辑部，数台计算机前坐着埋头工作的人员，台上零乱的杂志、中英文工具书、纸笔，散落桌面，这大约是“ 杂志”“书编”部摆设的共同特点。然而，举目一望，编辑室的墙壁贴屋顶四周挂满了十几年来已出版杂志的人物 封面，数十名人封面动作造型各异，十分醒目，独特之处，跃然之眼，显然告诉来访者，这里就是《功夫太极杂志 》编辑部。简琪说，这间小屋里，已编辑出版了144期600万册的杂志，是現在僅剩的英语系国家中唯一专门 介绍中国武术的英文杂志，除畅销北美市场外，还远销世界各地，加大欧美人士对中华武术的了解与关注，客观上 起到了中西方文化交流的桥梁作用。还刊登许多为推动武术成为奥运项目的文论。由于她出色的工作，1999年 荣获克林顿颁发的“总统体育年度奖”。2002年“杂志创办十周年庆”之际，由中国中央电视台体育频道到美 专访，制作了“简琪和她的美国‘功夫’杂志”。次年在“体育人间”节目中播放。2012年在“杂志创办20 周年庆”时，倡议举办面向民众，免费的武术健身活动的展示活动日，获圣荷西政府特许，并确立为市“功夫太极 日”，每年举办一次。

此后，我又参观了杂志社设立的练功房、采访室、摄影室。在接受有关《南刀竞赛套路》编创及新创“南刀”器械 的有关问题的采访后，在摄影室拍了几张动作照（2013年，出版的杂志封面选用我的“叠掌照”，采访的文章 及相关照片也登在页面内。此后，我连续3年被聘担任“美国功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛”总裁判、“圣荷西功夫 太极日”佳宾。

我们还穿过一扇门，进了一个约2300平方米开阔的库房里，货架上体育用品分类整齐摆放着。她说，产品大多 由开设在中国的工厂、公司生产制造的。他们创办《虎爪国际传播公司》已有20余年的历史，经营体育用品（含 武术）的网络销售、教学录影、宣传设计等多媒体业务。其中，“虎爪武术集团”早已跻身全美3大武术用品公司 之一。

简琪曾说，办杂志非常辛苦，经营也很艰难，原先无广告业务，几乎期期亏损，尽管后来有所改善，也只能维持收 支平衡。而办赛事，是非营利的，旨在为中华武术在美国搭建一个给各国武术爱好者展示武技、切磋技艺、显现武 术精神、习武强身、以武会友的平台。经费是难筹集的，除了市府支持免收部分费用，参赛者的有限报名费外，常 要垫补赛会经费的不足。至于“功夫太极日”更是以“健康养生”为主题，具有更广泛的武术民众健身展示，主办 方的准备、实施过程不仅付出精力、劳力，同时要支出一定的费用。笔者感受到她为出版“武术杂志”、举办“武 术赛事”、展示“功夫太极”所实施的3项事，不仅是劳心、劳力、而且是在“以商养武”的基础上实现的。但她 却开朗地表示，有机会认识了全球各地许多武德高尚、武技高超的武术人士，并以文字、图片形式，将武林人物与 武术项目推介给西方世界，还向世人推介武术健身的品牌（太极拳、武功法等）增进人的健康，特别能为传扬中华 武术瑰宝、武术传统文化做些事，乐在其中！

Each year, there are a few dozen Chinese Martial Arts tournaments in the U.S. The Tiger Claw Elite Championship is without a doubt the most significant one. This year the Championship will be held on Saturday May 16 in San Jose, Ca. The Tiger Claw Elite 2015 consists of several championships and they are the 7th annual Tiger Claw Elite KungFuMagazine.com Championship, the 3rd Tiger Claw Taekwondo Championship, the first Drunken Style Championship, and the first Tiger Claw Kid Tiger Championship.

Tai Chi (Taiji) and other Internal Styles, Push Hands, Team competition, WildAid, and Sparrings to choose from. You can see a list of all the divisions via a link here. For most competitions, they are separated by age groups and by skill levels. Drunken Style Kung Fu is fun to watch and incredibly hard to master. The first Drunken Style Championship will be open to all contestants age 21 and over specializing in any form of drunken empty hand, weapon, or sparring. This special Championship is sponsored by Kung Fu Girl Riesling, which earned a 91-point rating and placed in "Top 100 Wine" two years in a row from Wine Spectator. The first ten competitors to register for this Championship will receive a complimentary bottle of Kung Fu Girl Riesling.

WildAid is an international non-profit organization with the mission to end the illegal wildlife trade. Jackie Chan is a primary spokesperson for WildAid, accompanied by Harrison Ford, Yao Ming, Leonardo DiCaprio, Li Bingbing, Maggie Q and many other international celebrities. In 2010, the Year of the Tiger, the Tiger Claw Foundation launched a special championship with all proceeds going to WildAid’s efforts to save tigers. This year, the Tiger Claw Elite Championship is adding a youth division, the WildAid Kid Tiger Championship, for competitors age 17 and under. The WildAid Tiger Claw Champion is an ‘any style, any form’ division. At the 2015 Tiger Claw Elite Championship, this will be the only division where Taekwondo Poomse and Chinese martial arts will be able to compete against each other.

Kung Fu Tai Chi Day is a free open street fair that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese Martial Arts. It will be held in downtown San Jose on Sunday May 17. Some of the world’s top grandmasters and masters of Kung Fu and Tai Chi along with the best martial arts schools in the Bay Area will provide live demonstration. There will be ongoing classes and workshops in Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qigong, and Wushu – many of these are free for beginners. If you know the Simplified Tai Chi 24 form, you can join a group demonstration at the beginning of the fair. Several hundred people participated in the group demonstration last year.

For 2015, the Tiger Claw Elite Championships is introducing the first Tiger Claw Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Invitational.

This is an invitation-only meet. The focus of the invitational is upon kids of similar age and skill level. There will also be a showcase of the diversity of Jiu-Jitsu with an adult demonstration to illustrate various techniques and movements.

The Tiger Claw Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Invitational is organized and overseen by Tiger Claw’s Chris Kronkright, a ranked practitioner under Charles Gracie of the founding Gracie family. Chris Kronkright carries a black belt in Judo and has traveled to compete in many martial arts tournaments. Several Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts will be present at the Invitational to referee matches and coach the child competitors.

中国武术在线报道（八闽竹撰稿）：今年5月16日美国加尼福利亚圣荷西市，举办的《美功夫杂志社国际武术锦 标赛》上，在太极拳比赛场地上，出人意料的是在比赛场上出现3名年过半百身穿黄色表演服的运动员，他们是来 自《上海巨龙搏击俱乐部》的郑忠、孙自花、蔡国生。3人在诸太极拳手之竞赛项目排序中，轮翻上阵，时而42 式太极拳，时而太极单刀，还夹入孙式太极拳，其一举一动颇引赛场上数百人的注目。

笔者任该赛事的总裁判，也有愕然。不甚起眼的3人，竟成为此赛场的看点之一。细思原由，大约是赛会已举办过 6届，至本届方有上海太极拳人参赛——新鲜。自然也是显现出《美功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛》事的影响力、吸 引力、关注度，不仅获得各国，仍至已武术发源国——中国的关注。记得上届赛会，由北京组成的武术联队，亦参 赛，也给大会增添许多光彩。而今年中国另一大都市上海的《巨龙武术搏击俱乐部》太极拳手，也前来闯关，这自 然吸引各国参赛者和美国武术人对他们的兴趣。

此3人是纯民间太极拳的爱好者，因为他们参赛，称之为“选手”，其实对“规则”什么的并不甚了解，加上在异 国他乡，语言的障碍是客观的事实，除由少数美藉华人沟通，还借助肢体语言表达意愿。他们在赛场上，连完成竞 赛套路的时间还不足10余秒（未听清吹哨提示），亦匆匆收势下场，。但他们潜在的亮点，不可小觑，他们勇于 自发组队首闯《美功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛》，或成为开辟上海民间太极拳手，走出国门，在美国与各国太极拳 手进行友好往的又一途径。当然，他们是“工作人”，但将他们定为太极拳初习者却有些小看了，无论其断断续续 地习练太极拳，却也摆乎了近3年。尤其是国家制订的《太极拳竞赛套路》42式，明眼一看不仅动作规范，且显 功力，当然是有备而去的。亦获得参赛者侧目。该项目3人根据年龄段，分布在3个比赛组。结果2人获金牌，1 人因时间不足被扣分，屈居第2。另2项虽为初习项目，却也发挥正常，获得2银1铜的奖牌，凭心而论，在颇具 经验的“洋裁判”公正、公平的裁决下，他们对自己所获得的成绩，无渗水份，是口服、心服的。

3人报名参赛5项，获2金2银1铜的成绩，应该说首次闯关成功！而加州市政府也为表彰3人为中美武术的友谊 发展所做的有益工作，发给每人一份“感谢状”。对此，3人倍感珍惜。从新认识到习练太极拳，不仅是强身壮体 ，还有通过比赛，展示技能，让更多的武术行家检验练习结果，也是“以武会友”交结世界武友的途径之一，更是 提高技巧的有效方法……。习练、参赛相结合，带来无穷尽的太极拳兴趣，武友们不妨一试。

笔者遐思，来年，会有更多的上海“武术人”前去参赛，那时一定不仅是太极拳，还会有其它的武术项目报名，也 决非年逾半百的男拳手，还应有男、女青、少年去闯关。上海民间一支较大的武术团队或将汇聚在美国加尼福利亚 圣荷西市。当然，笔者也相信第8届《美功夫杂志社国际武术锦标赛》组委会，也会以更大的热情迎接前去参赛的 上海武术人。
