Greetings,

Today, I learned the shocking news that Vernon Haynes, one of the Senior Students of Grandmaster Alan Lee, recently left this world.

Vernon Haynes taught the Saturday, 3:30 to 5:30, class at the Chinese Kung Fu Wu Su Association (affectionately called "The Temple"). He was a serious taskmaster and he taught slowly, emphasizing a strong foundation. His class was so regimented that some of the brothers began to affectionately refer to themselves as "Vernon's Army". He produced some really good students, two of which are still at the Temple at Master Rank.

Though I was not in his class for long, I really appreciated the time. I am posting this for those who may not have been given the sad news.

I extend condolences to all who are affected by his passing.

Thank you for the hard training, Vernon.

I'm not familiar with him, but I'm sure it's a loss to your martial family.

I too was unfamiliar with him, but had heard of Alan Lee. R.I.P. to Mr. Haynes, and condolences to his family, students and friends.
