I watched this because of news of the upcoming animated White Snake (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?71053-White-Snake) from the same Light Chaser studio. It didn't really give me a lot of hope for that beloved tale.

TGB is Chinese animation based on the Door Guards. Mediocre animation, lots of subversive superstition, a Godzilla (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?67348-Godzilla)-sized villainous Groot (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?70164-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy-Vol-3), pretty hackneyed kid-flick formula including **** and diarrhea jokes, and the ever-overplayed Kung Fu Panda (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?39752-Kung-Fu-Panda) version of Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?60335-Everybody-was-Kung-Fu-Fighting-by-Carl-Douglas) but the translated version as a stellar voice cast: Mel Brooks, Ed Norton, Meryl Streep & Nicole Kidman. Clearly TWC had bigger aspirations for this. I was not impressed at all.
