Latest Update on Choy Lee Fut Return to the Origin China Tour
01-12 December 2001

We now have 89 people signed up for the tour; they come from 12 countries with Finland being the largest group (40 participants) followed by Australia (26 participants).

The group will be welcomed on our arrival in Guangzhou (Day 2) by both the Guangdong Association of Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu and the Guangdong Wushu Association, with a big celebration and Kung Fu demonstration at the Liu Hua Hotel before making our way to our training base in Xin Hui.

Forms to be taught on this study tour will include: -

1. FOR KUNG FU STUDENTS (25 HOURS)
- Jaw You Dan Toi Kuen (left and right one-legged form) and Ma Do (Horse Sabre)

2. FOR QIGONG STUDENTS (25 HOURS)
- The Six Breathing Methods
- Qigong Ruler Exercise
- Synthesis of Moving and Stationary Qigong
- Basic Chi-Sou (Sticky Hands) with large and small circles
- Principle and Practice of Dantian breathing
- Revision of Lohan 18 Hands
- The first 10 movements of Siu Lohan

3. FOR WST AND HSG INSTRUCTORS (10 HOURS)
- Gwang Jong (Staff Dummy) in King Mui Village Ancestral School

4. FOR WST MASTERS (3 HOURS)
- Intensive and personal tuition with Master Chen Yong-Fa in King Mui

On the second-last day, the group will visit King Mui Village and pay homage to Chan Heung’s grave and see the newly refurbished King Mui Hung Sing (Great Sage) Ancestral School where Chan Heung first taught Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu to his Clansmen.

A Bi-Si ceremony will take place that day where 12 WST Masters from 6 countries will formally become ‘Inner Chamber’ disciples of Fifth Generation Direct Descendants of Chan Heung. Their names will be kept in the King Mui Hung Sing Ancestral School.

Also, a Stone Memorial Tablet with the written record of the founder of Choy Lee Fut, Chan Heung, will be unveiled in the forecourt of the Ancestral Hall. The refurbished Ancestral Hall will now be a school again and a museum of Choy Lee Fut history. In future, practitioners who are interested in their lineage and history can contribute and retrieve information from the museum.

A professionally made video will be available for participant’s purchase with demonstration of forms and techniques you will learn in the workshop for memory purposes.

We are already planning for next year’s gathering in the second half of 2002. All Choy Lee Fut students, no matter what lineage you come from, are welcome to visit and train in King Mui Village. Please contact Sydney Hung Sing Gwoon for further details or expressions of interest.
