I have come down with a very bad head and chest cold. This is the first one since I have started exercising seriously a while ago.

What do all of you do about exercising when you are sick. Is any exercise good at all? Should I only do parts of my routine?

Thanks for your help.

If your symptoms are above the neck - runny nose, etc. play it by ear. If the symptoms are below - chest congestion, chest pain, etc. stay in bed.

save your energy to get well.
exercise raises your yang and depletes your energy that you need to combat the illness.

wait til you are pretty much through it, then blow the remainder off with a light workout.

once you've gotten all the way through continue one with your regular regimen.

in the meantime

try to meditate. (it's a little harder when your sick but it is calming)
rest a lot.
drink lots of water
sleep.

peace
