I'm more than happy to post them after the fight. Right now I'm trying to get Newton or Bob White to give me an interview up at www.kenpoworld.com (http://www.kenpoworld.com)

Well, I've found a little more out about the fight. www.sherdog.com (http://www.sherdog.com) has more information. Look at Pankration and then Jeff Newton is under the heavyweight (202lbs) division. His opponent seems to have allot more experience.

Why is a Kenpo guy going to compete nude in an brutal ancient greek contest of strength?

lol he's in trouble, the guy he's fighting is being cornered by Bas Rutten :) That's bad, everything Bas touches gets better.

I would say the Rahnavardi guy is a credible opponent. With his record (4-3) he's not really a contender, but he definitely has some fights under his belt, and would be a good (if somewhat risky) choice for somebody starting out.

Good for the karate dude getting in there in what looks to be a rather touch event.

It has to be a great event, they have cornermen like Tito Ortiz, Bas Rutten, and Marco Ruas one of the most famous MMA fighters is making his comeback in the main event. Sounds like a very credible tournement.

Yeah the event itself should be pretty cool. Bob White, Newtons coach posted on the KenpoNet that he has some tickets to give away if any of you Cali folks want some. Get his contact information from his web site at www.bwkenpo.com (http://www.bwkenpo.com) if you want a ticket.

But please, don't waste this man's time. He's a real professional and a d@mn nice guy.

Again,

This was posted at the KenpoNet by Vishal Shukla

[i]Jeff lost a 3 round decision to the guy (Amir) who won the tournament.

In my opinion, (and not just because I know Jeff) Jeff should have won the fight. When they were standing Jeff rocked the guy with several hand combinations. When they went to the ground, Amir was on top but did no damage and never came close to tapping Jeff out.

It brings up an interesting question about how these matches are scored.

I look forward to hearing Jeff talk about the training he underwent and also the reality of being in the cage.

It was a fun event and several martial arts legends were there including Chuck Norris, Howard Jackson and Judo Gene.[i]

I'm trying to find some video.

Got more witnesses, they are all surprised that Jeff didn't get the decision.

Amir did quickly tap his next opponent, but didn't get any techniques to land against Jeff on the ground. Most of the fight remained standing and they said that Jeff clearly dominated the stand up game.

I'll try to find something a little more reliable like stills or video ot at least a score card.

Even though it was a loss, it's still a great start for Jeff. He says that he is intent on rising to the top of this sport.
