A friend of mine was asking me about several internal practicionners, and before telling him the little I know about them I want to ask your opinion and what you know about them.

About 6 years ago, I studied twice with Ma Hong. A great man. A great scholar of Chen style. An amazing teacher (who, to my knowledge, speaks not a word of English). George Xu in San Francisco has tapes of Ma Hong demonstrating. I have not kept up with my practice, although I am just now getting back into it. However, I have never heard a disparaging word about Ma Hong. He is highly respected. By the way, his name means "the rainbow horse". You've gotta love that!

The old "Chen Style Journal" had several articles by Ma Hong. The man knows what he is doing and he shows it in his very clear writing. A latter-day Sun Lu Tang.
