If you don't know Blitz, it was a fine English-language magazine from Oz. Sad to see it go.

Blitz Magazine, or Blitz Australasian Martial Arts Magazine was an Australian magazine covering karate, martial arts, and combat sports. The headquarters is in Melbourne.

It is owned by Blitz Publications & Multi-Media Group which went into liquidation on the 1st of March 2018 and is no longer producing the magazine.[1]

The publisher of Women’s Health and Fitness, Nourish and Australian Natural Health has gone into liquidation.

Blitz Publications and Multimedia Group, which also publishes Muse, Gluten-Free Heaven, Natural Vegan and Blitz Martial Arts Magazine was liquidated on March 1, according to an insolvency notice.

The publisher has been running since 1986, and claims to be the number one media group for the health, fitness and sports lifestyle community. On its website the company says it reaches an audience of 3.6 million across its brands.

“Notice is given that at a general meeting of the members of the Company held on 01 March 2018, it was resolved that the Company be wound up and that Jason Glenn Stone and Glenn Jeffrey Franklin be appointed liquidator(s),” a notice on the ASIC website said.

As a result of the liquidation, all magazines have ceased publishing.

According to a notice on Telum, Katelyn Swallow, editor-in-chief at Women’s Health & Fitness now works for Edge in Melbourne as an editor.

Mumbrella tried to contact the offices but they have not responded.

Zoe Samios is a reporter at Mumbrella covering media owners. She completed her degree at the University of Sydney in Media and Communications. Zoe has travelled overseas for internships, including South Korea, where she worked as a reporter for The Korea Herald.

Sad to hear another one bite the dust. :(

It was sad to read of the demise of Blitz magazine but this seems to be the way of our world with the ever diminishing print media shrinking as Online use becomes more predominant.

It should be noted here that the UK magazine, "Martial Arts Illustrated" also bit the bullet and ceased publication.

But not all is lost, we have been quietly working on a project the recently came to fruition this very week. The all new Tao Martial Arts & Lifestyle Magazine 1st Issue is now available!

Its a sad day to see blitz gone. I have read that mag on and of for 20 years.

I checked out the new Tao Martial Arts & Lifestyle Magazine as mentioned above and its a fantastic read. A bit of a hassle to d/l and set up to read but worth it. Alot of great content put together by people who simply care about martial arts and not making just a buck. I do recommend people checking it out.
