I've been seeing more and more about this. Even a few friends have gotten into it. Anyone here try it yet?

No pix in this article, just an embedded vid.

Anyone visit one of these yet? I've got a few friends (non-forum members/non-martial artists) who've tried it and had fun.

SOMERVILLE, Mass. —
The first ax-throwing bar in Boston area debuts this weekend, although without the bar part for now.

Urban Axes will open its sixth nationwide location in Somerville's Union Square on Friday.

The chain allows customers to eat, drink and, with the guidance of a trained coach, throw an ax at a target corklike board.

Alcohol and throwing potential weapons?! Don't worry, the business says they do not allow anyone who is intoxicated to throw.

"A coach is with you and your group the whole time," Krista Payton, one of the owners of the Philadelphia-based chain, said.

The business opened its first location in the City of Brotherly Love in September 2016.

It has certain walk-in hours setup for people "to come and see what all the fuss is about," but also allows groups as large as 24 people to hold events at the location.
