Why so much jumping into the splits? Not that I could do it myself, I'd just like to see more variety in a trailer.

It's a shame that that preview cut is only of three (plus) techniques.

There's a lot more to wushu then chains of spins, butterfly kicks and inside tornado kicks.

Come on Raffi, your not doing wushu any favors.

man that stuff is hard as hell to do , my sifu is like those guys, no exagerration, he is the old school version of those guys and his flexibility and stamina are amazing , when he was training for stuff like that he used to go for a 20 mile jog 1 a week and 5 miles daily !!!! and for flexibility training his teacher used to tie one leg at the base of the tree lift his other leg up and tie it above his head , and leave him there for 20 minutes.

I never did realise how they manage to do those moves where they fall into the splits.

Sorry, I didn't realize someone linked to that here til just now.

Don't get the wrong impression from that trailer, the VCD isn't 70 minutes of double twists into splits. When I made that particular trailer I was aiming for something 'exciting' that would peak people's interests, and as much as we hate to admit it, a LOT of people get very excited about things like double twists into splits.

(what? you mean you don't???)

And likewise, not a lot of people would be excited about a trailer showing people doing nice horsestance-bowstance-block-punch combinations.

Think of it this way, the trailer for a movie shows some of the most exciting action to intice the viewer to want to see the real movie. It doesn't cover all the plot or all the details that make a good movie a good movie, thats what the rest of the movie is for! :)

if you have more questions, email me (I don't come by here as often as I'd like)

Raffi did another trailer on beijingwushuteam.com, this one is of the straightsword/spear competition. I don't like it as much as the first one, but its still pretty cool -
