Forget the MCU. And the DCEU. This is the first installment of an Indonesian comic superhero. An orphan gains super powers because he gets struck by lightning a lot.

Okay, this is no where near the MCU or the DCEU. It's kind of incoherent. The story is erratic and drifts through several strange ideas like poisoning the rice supply so all pregnant women give birth to amoral babies. There's a lot of orphans - evil orphans - assassin orphans - burn scarred orphans. Set in Jakarta, it's a gritty ghetto.

But one of the assassins is the choreographer, and it's Cecep Arif Rahman of The Raid and John Wick 3. The fight scenes rock. The lead is Abimana Aryasatya and while he's not super precise, but he doles out some fine long take sequences and some complex stuff. Satisfying.

Seen on Hoopla but I think it's in my queue on Amazon Prime too.
