Whats up Gene and KFTC Family!!
just checking in because I havent kept up on some of the threads or started any new ones!
the topics are endless and the old threads can still be expounded on forever, so I will return soon :p
The more I read Shaolin Trips (http://www.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?57311-Shaolin-Trips-by-Gene-Ching/page7) the more I see a lot of the question I have are answered within the book, or the book leads to the answer, so I'm a bit more patient before rushing to ask something.

and other than that I've been training like mad whenever I can as usual, and a bit more than usual just in case ;)

what have you all been up to? or preparing for?
all in accord with the earth and heaven surely.

Djuan, how is your training going? Have not read anything from you in some time.

It's gratifying to hear that it's answering some questions for you. That was very much my intention with it.

Training is going great, thanks for askin :) how about you? Primarily, I am doing repetitions of a handful of Taolu, Da Luohan, Xiao Hong, trying to get that pure Shaolin root stronger, and loads of Qi Gong , Ma Bu and leg stretching. even some minute weight lifting.
I've been inspired to do this for a number of reasons.

also looking at how much my stamina, as in wind, needs to improve. All the static endurance training like deep stance holds, etc, sometimes makes you forget cardio and long stamina training, so I'm trying to make time to run, and increase the speed and reps of my forms practice. also added a weighted vest to my forms practice (again) which really brings out the finer points, allowing me to see where my balance/stability and alignment needs work.

so to answer you question, I have actually been deeper in my training and "foruming" a lot less, though I lurk here daily lol ....and I have a reserve of some training related questions and a couple topics to post about, only not ready to post just yet.

Hows your training going?!

"answering some questions" is an understatement. :) Its a journey to read and an awakening. I'm thankful for you and your work, and your openness to sharing your journey. I've also revisited SW episodes 1, 4,5 and 6. in the meantime, lol just for good measure.

so much growth going on, and more to do. so much learning. being aware I have so much training to do, and trying my best not to be a 'american kung-fu hobbyist' with how much I've learned thus far and stay self disciplined, as if I lived at a school or temple, it's humbling and empowering all the while.
and I havent even seen you in person yet

Ahhhhh, that is good you have gone even deeper in your training! Sometime, you will have to let us know why the reasons for being inspired to do this! I like to see your love for Shaolin and to get it more pure and stronger! Oh! You know cardio is everything! Even for not martial artists, cardio is so important but most people have no idea. I am impressed with your knowledge and your training, very good and I like it very much! How is my training going, ha?

I will be starting up again. It has been almost 10 years of not doing any qigong or meditation. Almost 7 for no cardio and training. Sad, isn't it? No reason really other than a lifetime of it and took a too long break! I see you live near the bay area? I have family in San Mateo. Do you know of it?

As you already know, stay hungry, eat bitter (in all ways of life) and keep us updated and inspired!
