Check it out, anyone have any info on whats going on these pics and whats upt the weird headgear thing.

I've seen those used for kids tournaments but never for seniors.

One of our adult students has that headgear. The plastic front steams up and she can't see. She also has a hard time breathing through the fog.
I don't recommend them.

anything that lets you go full contact or close to the head gets my vote

At the school I train at we use a similar type of head gear. Only it has a face cage like on a linebackers helmet. You can go full contact and not get a broken nose or smashed face. But you will still feel the impact to your head so you better be using defensive skills to keep your head attached. This type of gear allows realism with safety.
