Hi. Where do some of the more unique weapons taught in Wah Lum, such as the fan, melon hammers, snake spear, flute, etc. orginate from. Are they more specific to certain styles, and were they intergrated into the wah lum curriculum?

Thanks

I think you could ask this about any KungFu style that has more weapons beyond the basic 18.

Hi Kempo,

I'm pretty sure that many of Wah Lum's weapons were integrated into the curriculum, though I can't give you many details (I haven't studied for very long - only about 2 years). For example, we learned a butterfly swords form in an October seminar; the swords are more common in southern styles and the form comes from Mok Gar system.

There's been a lot of discussion lately on Wah Lum history, origins of forms and the system. It would be cool if all this info was put into a single book! :)
