What do you focus on? I tend to watch my hand's alot, other time's i look forward and pretend the atacker in front of me, as i go through the motions, but usally my hands.

What do you focus on?

I think there are two approaches:

1. Look ahead, as if observing your enemy.
2. Look at you palm, foot, or whatever is the focus of the movement, so that "the eyes lead the chi"

Even in varation #1, you should mentally be putting chi into your movements.

There are many answers to this question. Are you training the form or performing the form?

There are many sublevels of practise one could and should get into with emphasis on a multitude of 'focuses'.

When I perform a form, I do not focus on anything.

Hypothetically, I am engaged in combat so I am just there, so to speak. The pattern or sequence of movements are preset, but each move denotes a fluid interchange of action/reaction of that engagement or performance.
