I figured you two would enjoy this site on the little weapon that could. The second link is to a 1948 Yawara manual written for police departments.

Thanks for the link.

It is a little hard to see exactly what is happening (on a small scale) during some of those moves because of the quality of the photographs.

The body movements and techniques demonstrated are similar (although a little more basic) to my own early jujutsu training.

The yawara and other pocketstick weaponry are very effective in the right hands for striking or jointlocking.

Thanks for the link Rogue!

Good stuff.

I am a big fan of palm sticks, koppo, kubotan, yawara and all its incarnations.

Do you carry a palm stick?

P.S. Did you go to the War Machine website and check out the pics of violent crime?

What do you thinkabout Franco?

Oh, and Merry Christmas

Francos site is a bit much. Too much chest thumping and bad @ss attitude. I did enjoy the video section, it pokes holes in some of our best techniques like the head butt.

The whole War Machine thing is pretty funny. While I agree with the "Code of Conduct" it comes across as being childish. I have a hard time thinking about certain aquaitences of mine referring to themselves as War Machines, they usually use the word professional when referring to what they did, (which is what you see the SF fellows doing in Afghanistan).

Lot's of declarations without any facts backing them up.

The video clips, street fighters here are pathetic, no Tank Abbots in the bunch.
