Is there such a thing?

One of my classmates is moving there in six weeks, she's got a free ride in college there, but she doesn't want to quit her training. Anyone know what's out there?

"Anyone know what's out there?"

A flat, bleak death my friend.

But a pretty state capitol building, btw.

Thanks, JW, I'll let her know that.:D

Let's just hope this thread doesn't turn into just another Lincoln, Nebraska sucks thread.

Then again, lets hope it does.

Too busy eating oatcakes, whilst inventing a newer model of the Spitfire!

And talking to Marty Crane from Frasier, whilst playing football with Nick Han****.

He's famous in the UK, a tv presenter and famous supporter of the BEST CLUB IN THE WORLD:

STOKE CITY FC !!

All very useful information, I'm sure, but it brings us no closer to answering the question at hand, and therefore I am left questioning the answers at hand, namely:

-"A flat bleak death"
-A beautiful capitol building
-Something about a tv presenter in the UK.

Surely there is some small enclave of kung fu near Lincoln? Surely anywhere that could be described as a "flat, bleak death" MUST be a haven for some fighting style? Surely someone here can show JWT the error of his ways, and teach him of the commerce, industry, and dare I say, profound culture that is undoubtedly hidden in Lincoln, Nebraska.

OK, this thread has grown, expanded past its original boundaries. Now, let this be a thread for ALL great things that exist in Lincoln, Nebraska.

I just found this one on a google search. They seem to teach Goju Ryu Karate, Kodokan Judo, Aikido, Tai Chi, and Yoga. That's a lot of ground to cover, but apparently there's a number of instructors. Not a great site, but at least it isn't really obviously full of crap, although billing oneself as "Roseberry Shihan" isn't a great sign of humility.

You know these guys, KC?

Another possibility, from the same google search.

Sure you're not asking a LITTLE too much of Lincoln, Nebraska?

Nebraska Hapkido Info Page?!?!:

http://users.binary.net/thomcat/Nha.shtml

This seems better - nice presentation:

http://www.unomaha.edu/~wwwma/homepage.htm

Although under ethics, it states
"Refrain From Senseless Killing of Living Things"

Nebraska Academy of Martial Arts:

See KC, never say I'm not nice! :)

Thanks, Chang, thanks, DS. I'm still holding out hope for a kung fu school, but c'est la vie, it is, after all, Lincoln.

You Yanks take the name of a beautiful English town - and use it as the moniker for a desolate, slummy wasteland.

That is C'est La Vie!

Vous allez voir.

OK, my classmate has limited time before she goes to Lincoln, so out of pure evil, I'm gonna keep this thread going, and then, the week before she leaves, I'm printing the whole thing out and giving it to her, so here's your chance to either help a fellow kung fu practitioner continue their training, or slam Lincoln, Nebraska with all your collective might.

Have at it, I'm not letting this thread go away until we've bled Lincoln for all its worth.

Hey KC, off topic [keeping this post going!!] you're nearly at 1000 posts.

Will you dedicate the 1000th to something?

If so, how about... Oatcakes? :D

Ok, don't know if that would work, but it is like all the martial arts schools listed in yahoo yellow pages

Thanks, Northern. It doesn't look very promising for kung fu. All I've found is one school that teaches tai chi in addition to their japanese arts, and the tai chi sounds non-martial to me.

I'm beginning to hate Lincoln, Nebraska.

Its not kung fu, but I know a very talented Filippino who has a very successful school there. His name is Julious Meligrito, and he runs Yi's Karate teaching Korean and Philippino MA. Web site is a little limited but is at http://welcome.to/yiskarate
