Shaolin Temple - Have you been?

Hi,

I am planning on a trip to study kung fu in a Shaolin Temple this summer, I was wondering if anyone has been and whether anyone can recommend any sites of temples they have trained at.

I am especially interested if anyone who has been to :

(are they the same place?)

I do not know the school you are referring to but I do plan to attend the Shaolin Academy that you referred to in shaolins.com. Do you know of anyone that attended this school?

why the hell are you going to shaolin to learn wushu?

there are no kung fu schools around that teach the real deal...ive been there 4 times, beautiful temple and country but wushu training only. of course you can find taiji, hsing yi, bqua but you find them on every corner in your own city!!:rolleyes:

I was planning on going to see the life-style and the country/language. I don't expect to learn anything amazing but I want to improve speed/strength/fitness.

Did you enjoy it when you went? By the way which school did you go to?

Hi again,
as you walk the road to shaolin you will pass many wushu schools, dormatries etc, you will be disappointed to say the least! speed and fitness can be done where you live, dont waste your money on learning from a teacher they will take your money as you are a tourist.

its a beautiful place to experience and the pagoda forest lots of energy you can imagine all the battles outside the temple and monks dying. also people that wanted to get inside to learn! go for the experience and buy stacks of cheap weapons!!
