Southern Style

A friend of mine says he met a guy that teaches a southern fist style called "LaPham" pronounced La Faam. Anyone knows what the word LaPham means literally in chinese?
I was hoping that the chinese speakers in here may have an answer.

It sounds Vietnamese. There is quite a lot of Chinese martial arts, especially southern kung fu, in Vietnam.
