WU JIA QUAN SHU
* The Art of Wu Family Fist *

Wu Jia Quan Shu was created by General Wu Ji-Zhe (19th generation
of the Wu family originated by Chou Tai-Pou - Son of Emperor Chou
Tai-Wang`s oldest son) of the Wu Kingdom during the Autumn and
Spring Period (600 B.C.) in Jiangsu Province, China. It has been
passed down quietly within members of the Wu Family for more than
2800 years. As a military officer, Wu Ji-Zhe exchanged cultural
and martial arts knowledge with many martial arts experts in that
time including Military Strategist Sun Tze (Sun Woo), author of
the book The Art of War.

Wu Jia Quan Shu is composed of no forms, geared in simplicity and
direct approach of military self-defense. It is a combative
system trained in the art of the Phoenix and the Dragon, the Yin
and Yang, hence it is also called the Wu Family Dragon-Phoenix
Fist and it is considered as one of the oldest system available
now in China.

`The Wu Jia Quan is one of the oldest genuine Chinese
Kung Fu styles, which can be of great use even today.
It serves outside as a self-defence skill, and inside
as a hobby for health and well being as well as being
self-entertaining. It stregthens the muscles and builds
the body and appeaces the mind and spirit. Therefore,
it is one of the real gems of human wisdom revealed just
recently.`
Fu-chen Yang,
Historical Researcher

`Wu Jian Quan Shu is one of China`s oldest and most
authentic martial arts styles. Coming from the ancient
military martial arts of one of China`s greatest warriors,
General Wu during the Spring and Autumn. Wu Jia Quan Shu`s
techniques are the root of many of today`s existing
traditional Chinese martial art styles`

A friend from my school trained there before moving here to Columbus. I'll ask him about it. I hear Johnny Wu is pretty good though. I'll try to have a reply from my friend Monday night.

Dear Firehawk,

Thank you again! I really must say, you are a treasuretrove of kung fu information. Down the road I'd like to pursue a Masters degree in Molecular Neurobiology at the Medical College of Ohio which I believe in in Columbus and it just so happens that the Dragon and Phoenix are two of my favorite kung fu animals. Since Jia is the Mandarin for Gar would another pronunciation be Wu Gar? Is it related to the Wu family of Wu style Tai Chi Chuan?
