My two cents:
As soon as soemone else starts to turn you away from where it is you want to be heading, its time to cut the attachment.
You only live once. Follow YOUR dreams. If he has no passion for anything, and can not understand the joy and fullfilment you get from training, try talking to him.
I wetn through this with many girls and surfing. They always complained i put the waves before them.
Suggest a hobby. Suggest he feel comfortable standing alone, doing soemthing, so when you are together he has something to offer other than comments on your boobs.
I hated being someone to go to the mall or movies with. I want to do soemthing meaningful, not be someone to waste time with.
This person seems immature and insecure. He's probbaly scared you'll meet a "real man" at kung fu.
You sound like you are at class for yourself. Training will be there before and after friends, who come and go. Stick with your passion.
