hahahha good one Prana, I was reading these again and was definitely figuring out something was wrong hehehehehh

As for the animal, it's the year of the Horse

Going to work this morning and taking my usual bus ending in Chinatown I came around a hong xia school performance...good drums, but the performance was...uuhhhh...flowery...as my sifu would say "no roots, no power", they just wiggled their arms and did little use of any waist power and other things...but still, it was nice to watch, their lion dancing was fine (although I wondered if it were fine as can be, judging by their wushu I had just seen), and it was a nice surprise to start the celebration. Can't wait for the big parade on sat!!

This might be a dumb question, but.....

Is the Vietnamese Tet Lunar New Year the same day as the Chinese New Year?

Happy New Year all. And this is the first one in a while I won't be under a head -- thank God.

Believe me, its a lot easier seeing and keeping the root from the crowd. As anyone who had to hit restuaramt after restuaramt knows, you cheet as often and as long as possible -- because those ba$tards take a long time before coming and tapping you out.

Save it all for the bows and the hung pow.

In NYC chinatown, lots of times schools don't even use a tail -- some one carries the cape. I think that's weak, but, its a living I guess. When the reach the school or some place important, then they'll put on a good show.

I'm looking forward to it though, I enjoy Chinese New Year more than Dec. 31; since I don't drink and all.

Xin Nian Quai Le!! (Mandarin) I made a chinese book store owner very happy the other day. He says I have a great accent from the university course I did 6-7 years ago. I told him those are the only words I can remember!
