I beleave Iceland holds the current worldrecord for the biggest loss in an international game, it was something like 60-70 (no joke) to zero.

Or at least my friend who practices hockey told me so.

I think Canada had it's best days in hockey against the K.G.B. in the seventies!
I believe that sweden had a lucky win because Canada's goalie was exausted by a beautifull sweden blonde he meet the night before the match!
I give the gold to Cameroun this time...Does Cameroun has a hockey team?...

Kristoffer

I thought that Japan had the worst hockey team? Or Afghanistan maybe? :D

Well, I was kind of surprised the US beat Finland by so much--Finland's got a good number of big name NHL stars on their team. I don't know what it is with Canada and Olympic hockey---they always have a great team on paper, but it hasn't translated into a gold medal in quite a while. They shoudn't have left Bruins star Joe Thornton off the roster, that's for sure :).

Sweden's definitely got a lot of talent (like the Bruins P.J. Axelsson :)), and they seem to have a good thing going with that "torpedo" system.

Ahhh, Russia vs. USA tonight---hockey heaven. Russia's loaded with talent (like Bruins star Samsonov), but so is the US (Bruins Guerin and Rolston :))

Did I mention I was a Bruins fan?

Delicatesound, I oughta kick you in the face!

I was shocked and apauled at Canada's performance, what a disgrace. On paper, team Canada is the best team in the olympics, but we still lost to the 4rth or 5th. The first game doesn't matter a whole lot, so they have time to get their sh!t together. Germany will give them a nice warm up for when it's time to play some real teams.

Secondly - I was kidding - I've been and I like the place. USA without the sunshine and crime.

Hey fatty, shut your mouth.

My friends I usually point and laugh at the odd obese person we see up here (Canada), but as soon as we cross over into America, they're everywhere. And it suddenly doesn't seem like such a good idea to make fun of the fatties anymore. Me, my friends, and any one else who is in good shape is out numbered at least 20 to 1 by that fat people.

And if you aren’t fat, I apologies. Life must be hard enough as it is, being the skinny minority in a word of fat people.

Hey Delicate.
My friend Jean (http://pm.gc.ca/pm_docs/images/pm_official.jpg) just emailed me about your comments. He was very disapointed of you!...I told him you were only kidding. He said "It's o.k." !
...You know he's able to strangle people for less than what you said!

Yeah, geez. Finland really lost bigtime to the States.

However, Finland isn't going to do well this year. At least I have very little faith in the squad, which is really sad, considering how I love watching Finland usually have field-day in international tournaments. That is, 'til the Czechs come and steal the gold. :) Oh well.

FYI: I'm an English gentleman. And yes, most Yanks are fat.

Hey, some country called belarouse (spelling?) is playing finland now. I'm pretty sure that my drunken mens league hockey team can give these belarouse guys a good go.

Hmm, isn't 60% of americans overweight, and only 30% of canadians are overweight. BIG DIFFERENCE. Oh well, whatever, society is filled with overweight people, i can see in 20 years the obese will be making fun of the fit, " hahaha, your not popular becuase you have a six pack, hey look at those thin ankles they're nothing compared to the nice elephant ankles of the super models in italy." (better fill up on the beers)

Oh, and Canada, you disappoint me. ( i had a big sum of money put on that game, kidding, but i owe a few friends a free lunch) And yes the first game is very significant, to me it's the pace setter, it sets the mood. It made me sad, when it could have made me happy. Yeah, and canada does have the best team on paper, but it didn't show up on that game though. Canada had so many good players, and yet we still lost.

America has a pretty good team. So does the Czechs, and the Sweds, and the Fins, and the Russians, i like all the teams, but i love Canada. GO CANADA. Good for you Sale and Pelletier. And don't forget lemay.

I have a question, you know how Sale and Pelletier get to keep their silver while receiving a gold as well. Well is that silver counted in the medal counts? So does canada get a silver and a gold for pairs figure skating?

Usa-Russia 2-2 !!!

They were pretty even but the statistics showed that Russia played slightly better. However, Russia must score ALOT against Finland to go around usa, who has better + - statistics..

I love Hockey :)

Wow, what a great game! The first period was played at an insane pace by both sides---very even. Russia really started to crank it up a notch after that and they were moving the puck well---they really dominated the second period and the first half of the third. USA turned it on for the last 8-10 minutes though, and put the pressure on to tie it up. I must say Russia has a sh*tload of incredibly talented players. This is going to be a tough gold medal to win for any team.

Another great game--this is a really awesome tournament so far.

what a mind blower.. Oh my nervs,, :D yeah thak god for Salo. I dunno what the hell Sundin was trying to do in third period, when he just grabed that poor Czech's neck and just held him there.. I think both teams played a little sloppy, too bad that second goal in 1st didn't qualify, otherwise it would not have been such a even 3d I think..
Jagr is one tough cooky!
Great game othervise, the 2nd period was REALLY entertaining with great play from both sides.

Now I'm all hyped up to see Usa playing, I think that Usa-Sweden would be great to watch :)

Finland just beat Russia 3 to 1 and took the second place in the division. The Finn team just won my faith back -- with grim determination.

Something the russians have ran into in Finland before. (g)
