Mesmerising Wing Chun Kuen - Wooden dummy
Was originally Biu Jee, but thought I'd speak about the wooden dummy first.
Practice with the wooden dummy, a special characteristic of Lingnan [1] kungfu. In the author's childhood, when people spoke of kungfu, the first question asked was: is the bridge arm hard enough? The hard bridge hand comes from wooden dummy practice. Therefore hitting the wooden dummy has penetrated the Lingnan people's culture.
Wing Chun Kuen wooden dummy, my teacher says: the origin was a grounded (entering the earth) dummy, but the dummy arms were frequently broken, therefore the change to a hanging dummy, further perfecting 'Wing Chun power'.
