The definition of Luan Jie is you can link your moves anyway you want to. There is no standard Luan Jie form.

the name of the form is Luan Jie. Wu Da Lian Huan Pi is the name of the opening combo of 5 chops
Luan Jie is the "mother form" of mantis and those 5 chops at the beginning followed by left and right tanglang shou are the basis for many other movements
hope this helps
The "乱接(Luan Jie) - disorderly connection" is a very important intermediate level praying mantis form. The "五打连还劈(Wu Da Lian Huan Pi) - 5 continue palm strikes" requires you to use your body to move your arm up and down, left and right. People suppose to only see your body move and not be able to see your arm move. This requirement does not exist in the basic level form such as Beng Bu. This is why the PM system is very "high level". Not many TCMA system has such clear basic level, intermediate level, and advance level training process. IMO, this form has the most praying mantis flavor than any other PM forms.
Here is a Luan Jie form.

This is pretty much classic Lanjie/Luanjie:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w43v5ShFYIE
well i think all the luan jie moves are important. they lay out the basic techniques of mantis - combination of chops at beginning, mantis hand blocks, and several core takedowns like pan zhou, shuang kou, yao zhan etc
Some people even called it 兰节(Lan Jie) too.
At 4.55 of this "Chinese government" mantis clip (the Chinese Wushu Committe chairman Hsu Tzi was in it) , you can see the words "乱接(Luan Jie) - disorderly connection" appears on that ancient book.

I love this move. It's not that easy to do.

Yes, you are right. Old TCMA saying said, "Name is not important. Technique has no standard."
10 things that I like about the praying mantis system are:
PM has:
1. all the punching tools used in boxing such as jab, cross, hook, uppercut.
2. all the kicking tools that inherited from the longfist system.
3. clear beginner level, intermediate level, advance level training process.
4. speed training.
5. combo set up training.
6. open mind (don't mind cross training).
7. no hidden or abstract moves in their forms.
8. sticky hand training that your opponent punches from some distance (not from arm contact).
9. easy integration path with the throwing art.
10. Taiji PM, Liuhe PM, and Baji PM that have power generation training.
It's not easy to find all these advantages in any single TCMA style. Hope I'm an OK salesperson for the PM system. :D
