xcakid, shaolin1, Philbert, me and the Twin Peaks girls. Our waitress was pregnant, which was a bit of a buzz kill, but it was really the good conversation that kept things interesting. Thanks guys. That was fun!

i'm about to check out. yesterday was good fun. the lighting was harshing my photography skillz, but i'll have plenty of shots for the article and a few extra for facebook/myspace. the sanshou starts in about 10 mins so i have to head over to the venue now. catch y'all on monday.
And I'm wearing my lemon shirt, much to the dismay of my coworkers (LoKF attendees will know what I'm talking about). I'll try to post up some pics soon.
Good one, MK.

xcakid & a fighter he was coaching
Bet you're wondering why these are all of xcakid. Well, our forum homie was all over the place at this event, competing, coaching and driving me to TP. It was great to see a forum person repping so strong. shaolin1 was in the stage demo, but I didn't post those pics, just because I missed them for this pass. I might post it tomorrow. There are others on FB & MS and more that we're saving for the mag review. These were only the ones that were forum relevant.
lol I was curious what my facial expression was going to look like in the photo at Twin Peaks that the waitress took with your camera.
I smiled in the other pics, I just knew this one would wind up on the forum.
Of course, our waitress was preggers, which was a bit of a buzz kill.
Hey don't forget about me!:mad:Quote:
shaolin1 was in the stage demo
BTW, Grandma said to pull up those pants
And here I thought it was cause I was too sexy for my shirt to put in pictures. :D
Oh and the girl in the pic just won her first continous sparring match. If you ever meet her, she is the most docile person. But put gloves on her and she is like a swarm of bumble bees attacking you. And for you pervs out there, quit it. She is married and a mother of two.
That was a lotta fun...Gene did you happen to snap a picture of one of the Brazilian CLF folks blowing on the blow horn? That was definitely a new experience for me - one of them does, say, the Five Animals form, and then after after they finish, they go into an uproarious cheer, yelling "BRA-SEEL!" and blowing on the horn!
Definitely an extra high spirited event this year because of them.
Something about being lectured by B&W grannies from atop that taxicub messed with my memory banks. :o
Unfortunately I was having a lot of technical difficulties with my photos. The backdrop to the stage was a huge black vinyl sign that was glossy and would throw back the stage lights at different angles, so a lot of my shots came out blurry (also because I restrained myself from using a flash). I'm not sure if I caught you. I'll have to check. I might post a few more pix later.
I didn't get a lone shot of that mini-vuvuzela, but I did get several shots of the Brazilians. How could you miss them? They were as loud as the lemon shirts.
BTW, the lemon shirts were also messing with my photos - they threw so much light that they messed with my exposures.
Here's a Dallas article (no pix):

Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting
By JULIE TAM
Updated 7:53 AM CDT, Mon, Jun 28, 2010
The 2010 Legends of Kung Fu tournament and exhibition brought hundreds of competitors to North Texas from around the world.
Some of the best martial artists in the nation performed over the weekend in Plano Centre. Children and adults of all ages demonstrated various styles of fighting, Chinese kickboxing, and Tai Chi.
"For a Kung Fu event, this is one of the biggest in America, actually, 'cause we have people coming from all over the place," said Jimmy Wong, director of J.K. Wong Academy. "In the past I had a thousand competitors. That's crazy. This place -- 20,000 square feet -- it's like a fish market."
Thousands of spectators attended the two-day event, complete with a lion dance, illuminated dragon dance, Shaolin Temple Monks and masters and grandmasters from around the globe.
Also on display were swords, staffs, spears, and exotic weapons.
Cool thanks! Those stage lights are ruff, I am just now getting my vision back lol. BTW, I kinda like the lemon shirt

Okay, okay, so I didn't have my camera set properly. I told you that stage backdrop was harshin my exposures. I think this move is called "Grandma pulls up the trousers".
Patty Sun, who isn't a member here, but anyone who knows her and knows this event knows that she's one bad ass Chin Woo gal.
