frustration - songs stuck in head
ARGH! so frusterating
i'm the kinda person who always has a song stuck in my head - and well im paying for it now
i'd really like my mind to be calm; esp when im doing concentration meditation
and in trying to be mindful during my daily life, theres ALWAYS a song playing in the background of my head
now i just try and be mindful and listen to whats around me - but its a constant battle; for the last few days
hence the frustration :) is there a better way of doing this, or do i just have to tough it out for as long as my stubborn mind takes?
thanks

The Song Removal Procedure
Find another song that you really enjoy that has an active chorus, and play it repeatedly, say, 2-300 times. Then you will replace a bad song with a good song.
But my friend, I am sorry to say that is only step #1.
Step #2. is to find another song, different from the original and the new one, and listen to it 2-300 times as well. Now you will be dealing with two completely new songs invading your natural stream of consciousness.
If this is not effective up until this point, you must seek the final and last resort step, Step #3.
This step involves deep searching within oneself to the root of what makes the song so distressful to you. Find out if it is an attachment or disagreement to what the original song is conveying and if so understand why the attachment or disagreement exists. If you do this, that attachment may dissapear as you recognized it for what it is.
(The above should not be taken seriously as I still have 4-5 songs stuck in my head from childhood which popup and random times. In fact, one is playing right had a little lamb whose fleece was errr right now.. sorry)
