Just wondering what everyone's got in there shopping cart when they go to the grocery store. Here's what I've usually got:
spinach
cucumber
tomato
mozzorella cheese
100% whole wheat bread
pasta
milk
100% real juices
baked potatoes
whole chicken
canned tuna
And you?
I'm more or less on the see-food diet cause I've gotten into bodybuilding again. I like talking about food though, so here is what I bought the other day.
Fresh: broccoli, carrots, eggplant, avacado, sweet potato, potatoes, onions
bananas
blueberries
whole wheat bread
baked beans
black eyed peas
golden hominy
lots of pasta and spaghetti sauce
canned chicken (for the lazy man who doesn't mind a little sodium)
salmon in the pouch
frozen shrimp
omega-3 enriched eggs
cottage cheese
plain yogurt
yakisoba noodles
milk
frozen pizza
other stuff I usually have on hand:
-nuts: pecans, walnuts, cashews, almonds
-delicious tamales (leftover from christmas)
-canned corn
-big bag of basmati rice
-curry mixes and sauces
-olive oil
-spinach
-bulk size protein powder
-orange juice
and with that it is time to eat.
Shakes - I like GNCs 100% Whey.
Tuna, spinach, corn, rice, a normal dinner.
Milk. I'm always buying milk. Tonnes of the stuff. And meat.

i aint buying any now, im at parents, but when on me own:
tuna
bread (integral)

yogurt
sometimes pasta (integral)
beans (mostly white)
pepsi, coke...
milk (when i buy, i buy a lot for once that lasts long time)
cereal bars (more common) or whey protein bars (TOO EXPENSIVE!)
those are the main foods, then i might add soem

When I actually go grociery shopping...
Sea food:
crab
fake crab (the real **** gets expensive)
a few salmon filets
a few tuna filets
fozen shrimp
maybe some scallops
Fruit
I'll rairly buy fruit, as I end up fogetting about it, then throw too much away.
Veggies:
Green, yellow, and sometimes some other squashes
Sweet potatoes (I eat them for desert with a touch of brown sugar)
yellow onion
bell peppers
(I also always have a bag or two of green chilis fozen)
Others:
Eggs, cheese, bread, turkey
Juices:
Apple
Cranberry
A blend, when I find them not to be high fructose corn syrup.
OJ
oh peppers are a whole other food group
chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
pickled banana peppers
a few anaheims for roasting
green/red bell peppers
tiger sauce (wish it came in a bigger bottle)
rooster chili sauce
tahi chili & garlic sauce

Here's my typical grocery list:
CARBS:
*Brown rice
*Whole wheat bread
*Cereals (I try to get mostly whole grain, but just can't seem to avoid throwing in at least one box of the sugary stuff) :)
*White rice (my fiancee doesn't like brown, so we mix it up--about 70% brown and 30% white)
*Granola bars
*Cape Cod reduced fat potato chips
*Trail mix
FRUITS + VEGGIES:
Tons of different stuff here--mostly all fresh
*Broccoli
*Cauliflower (I've got a great recipe for whipped cauliflower. I don't even like the stuff, but it tastes like mashed potatoes with about 1/5 of the calories)
*squash
*bell peppers
*onions
*garlic
*Apples
*Oranges
*Bananas
*Berries (black, rasp, straw, blue)
*MEATS:
All kinds, I just try and limit the red meat, and make sure everything is as lean as it can be. Some good pre-marinated stuff is the Jennie-O Turkey Tenderloin, and Hormel's extra lean pork tenderloin.
*Lots of lunchmeat, because I try and bring my lunch every day.
*Fish 1-2x / week.
*Canned tuna (in spring water)
OTHER:
Fat Free Lactose Free Milk (I can't digest dairy. This SUCKS)
Chocolate Soymilk
Protein shakes or powder (I'm an EAS Myoplex guy myself)
Extra virgin olive oil
Coffee
Tea
That's about it!
I tend to shop the outer perimter of the grocery store and avoid the aisles.
Bananas (they go in every Whey shake I make at home. I use "Show Me the Whey")
Apples
Celery
baby cut carrots
Cauliflower
Broccoli
kale
Spinach
Onions
Garlic
Ginger
Sweet Potatoes
Navy Beans
Kielbassa (with the beans and kale this makes an awesome skillet supper)
Lean Pork
Chicken
Whole grain cereals
Skim Milk
Natural Peanut Butter
Almonds
Walnuts
White Rice (I know the brown is better for me, but I'm asucker for good white rice. Especially with those japanese sprinkles with the seaweed and the wasabi flakes)
Since I work late I usually take supper at work. This is usually Ramen, Lean Pork (usually cut into chops and cooked with soy, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic and little brown sugar) and spinach. I season that with a Thai chili paste and a wee bit of this Soup base I got from my Asian Market. Oh yeah.
Lottsa frozen veggies:
- any kind but eggplant, acorn squash or okra (Yuck!)
- Alsways including broccoli, brussle sprouts, carrots and sweat peas.
-Limit the corn as it is actually a starch and very high on the sugar. Not recommended for peeps with hypoglycimia or diabetes.
Canned 'maters and fruit packed in water. Sometimes frozen fruit, if it is on sale.
Rice of any kind, several kinds of pasta and pasta sauce. Stay away from taters as much as possible, execpt in stews. Frozen taters usually find thier way into the basket if the kids are helping me shop, though.
Any kind of meat, depends on the market prices. Usually ground turkey instead of beef, lots of poultry in general. Lots of tuna, as it is the only kind of fish my kids will touch.
Cranberry juice, orange juice, tomato juice, Tampico for the kids.
Almost forgot, lotts of cheese and milk. 1.5-2% milk and any kind of hard cheese, as well as the healthier amarican singles and string cheese for the monkeys to snack on.
