My 2018 NY resolution is to read some books that not martial arts or work related (China, publishing, etc). I read a lot for this job. I seldom read for fun anymore. And I realized that last year, I didn't read a single book that was recreational. So as of last weekend, I've already cracked two new books that have nothing to do with the martial arts or work.
Good thread. Since year 2000, I have my yearly plan. The MA part of my new year plan is to train free fight, hard conditioning. So that's the same as last year plan. This thread reminds me to review if I have achieved my last year MA plan, to see if I need to change anything. And also plan the detail. I am going to do the review within January.

Thread: New Years Resolutions
Thread: Taijiquan's health (or longevity) benefits overrated?
So this year I picked up the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series to fill the time between GOT books and seasons.
I bought a three-sectional staff from MAMart and resolved to spend around 30 minutes a day using it as a daily workout device.
I haven't decided how much, but I'm going to block out a portion of time during my work day to spend on pluralsight.com to pick up new work related skills.
That's pretty much it.
(I did actually complete my last year goal of reading Dune (the first book), and the Hitchhiker's Guide series)
Annnnnnd...still not making resolutions!
lol.
1920x1080 for now though.
My life has been pretty even keeled for that last decade or two.
If I gain weight, it's maximum 5 lbs.
I don't drink, so I have nothing to give up there.
I don't eat like a jerk off, so, no worries there.
I exercise regularly, get proper sleep and try to avoid negative uptake as much as I can.
I guess, the idea of resolutions is to get to a point where you don't need to make any. :D
