Defense Against the Muay Thai Low Kick

So I was watching some youtube videos of various MAs getting broken down by the Muay Thai low kick. The specific styles were Japanese karate and Tae Kwon Do and they continuously got their support knocked away by this attack.

Got me thinking, what is the best defense against the muay thai low kick? Thoughts?
