Thanks, PM, but I was looking more for a simple list...
Hi everyone,
Hoping someone could help me out....
I'm looking for a list of the movements in Gung Gee Fook Fu written in Chinese, that is NOT in pdf format. Word or OpenOffice format would be...
Wow. I admire the sheer exuberance of the audience as well as the performers. You can tell that these people love their art.
Oh boy, sorry - I should clarify...the Biu Jong Choy I described previously was for Hung Ga. Did any other Hung Ga peeps learn it that way too or did you learn it like our Choy Lee Fut cousins?
Interesting...I learnt Biu Johng choy differently, like a straight punch except that the knuckles are facing down and the palm side is facing up. The trajectory of the punch is more-than-less...
Just a question on terminology...
Is a "wushu dao" the same as a dao made of spring steel?
Hi everyone,
For the peeps that had actually gone through the baisi ceremony..how has it changed your life, for better or for worse? What positive or negative consequences? Any surprises? Any...
SifuYui and chusauli,
Interesting comments...personally, I give the demo a big thumbs up, like the other video(s) by SifuYui, then again I never learnt Ng Ying. It would be awesome if you could...
TTT...simply because I find this topic soooo interesting :D
With respect to David Jamieson's comments a few post ago...does anyone care to chime in...
How much emphasis would you put on...
SteveLau: I agree that even without baisi, a student can make a lifetime commitment to the art and school, however, IF baisi is in the family tradition, then it's more of a two-way commitment...
Are there Hung Ga forms/techniques/knowledge that are usually reserved for a student who had carried out the baisi ceremony?
If you were a Hung Ga sifu and baisi is in your family's tradition, what would be the most important attributes in a student that you look for if you were considering him as a baisi disciple?
Man, am I ever glad you said that. I would have been pretty disappointed and disillusioned if someone said "...so he can get you to wash his car every week...and pick up his laundry...and pay his...
Does the relationship extend beyond the kwoon or only in the context of kung fu? Would you consider it a "good" or "bad" thing (whatever that means)?
IMHO it would be quite an honor to be asked to...
What does the actual baisi ceremony entail?
What is the significance of the baisi ceremony today? Is it purely symbolic? If a student performs the baisi ceremony, what are the obligations of the student to the sifu and vice versa?
Thanks.
