I agree with stonecrusher... kwok just taking cheap shots. No skill at all. Other guy at least has some vague idea of forward pressure; when kwok does his cheap shots the other guys arms/hands shoot...

Totally agree Phil.
Though, to be fair, in this example (a quan sao)...the Tan is in more of a secondary roll...while the elbow of the bong sao is the workhorse.
I disagree completely. Tan, with the right energy behind it, correct timing (obviously), and proper body structure and angle provide the Tan with everything it needs to do its job and do it well. ...
hahaha ... :D
This 'rhino' strategy...gives me pause. It seems purely defensive; uses two hands against one; and appears to be "rhino'ing" only the upper gate area.
Hello Alan. Thank you for replying! I look forward to hearing more about Jiu Wan/Chiu Van style/method! Thank you very much!
:) Well put LFJ
Cool. Thanks jhexx

Thanks again.
Thanks for that KPM. Interesting. I assume the two people Joy mentioned above (Jason Lau and Francis Fong) learned from Jiu Wan after JW's time learning a second version/interpretation of WC from Yip...
Nice. Thanks KFF!
Thanks for the reply and vid links Happy Tiger!
Excellent. Thx Joy. I'll check it out!
As for the Jiu Wan stuff...I'll have to visit a kwoon of the two you mention at some point. Just curious as to why / how it is different from YM methods. Thx...
Was recently reading an article about WC's fighting aspects and it briefly mentions 'SiFu Jiu Wan style'.
Anyone have any knowledge of this style/method?
Similiar to Yip Man's style?

I would still try over at http://www.martialtalk.com/forum/63-wing-chun
Start a thread about WC in Kentucky and see what pops up.
Nice video! Thx. Had not heard of him before.
Cool. Thx. Of the two things you mentioned...the latter seems more common sense. Thx.
Dunno...I've always thought it odd that some folks when doing their version of BJD have the knives cradled in one hand and then awkwardly punch and/or kick as they try to re-grip the knives, etc....
Hmm...looking forward to hearing the response/reasons for this!!! I always thought it began with a kick(???)...
I've heard that as well...
Cool...thx for the reply. I don't think I've seen his knife form but appreciate the response!
Hmmm....I guess overall I was thinking do the knife form(s) you know seem to "make sense" from both an empty hand perspective as well as with the knives, etc? Are the knife forms you know of the Yip...
Paddington, between the two knife forms/training you've experienced, would you say one is "better" than the other WRT applicability(?).
Anytime. Hope you have some luck. Let us know how it goes...
Sent you a PM nautavac...
