I'm asking for a friend cause I personally don't follow up on traditional Baji and who's the best. I'm only aware that Adam Hsu is very qualified to teach it but he's relocated to Taiwan I heard but...
They don't appear to be good fighters. They maybe able to do forms, but if they can't fight with their art, then I don't see them being good in their art. Doing good forms is just part of the...
Forms also are for your body memory. So that when you spar or fight, you need not to think about how to properly move, but to just focus on your target which is your opponent.
Wow. That sounds cool. I get bored with reality tv shows. But this one I'd tried to keep with when it airs.
Yes.
Ha ha ha. Yes, I never woke up this morning. Cause no one video taped it. In fact, I was never born cause that wasn't video taped either. That means I don't exist.
That's true. Very good point. Especially that judo and jujutsu are TMA. Thanks.
I'm a little late. I guess I'll start with last night.
Training Kung Fu from 6pm to 9pm. Taught class 6-8. Went over alot kicking. Helped students individually with Chin Na's towards the end...
All though proven that MMA has worked effectively against TMA, here's something else that MMA isn't the end all be all. It really comes down to the individual's quality of training/instruction...
It's both. The 2 handed feature and the Katana. Though I would love to learn some 2 handed Jian or Miao Dao. But I have always been charmed by the Japanese sword and that's why I'm doing Iaido as...
I would choose Katana as well. My school doesn't teach 2 handed Jian otherwise I'd be all over it. I currently take Iaido to get basic Katana handling because my Kung Fu school doesn't teach Miao...
It sounds like the White Lotus Clan from Once Upon A Time In China 2. Is that what these group of characters from the movie were based upon, the boxers of the rebellion or "The Righteous and...
I agree there is good Tae Kwon Do out there. Just like Kung Fu, there is crap and there is good out there. No one should make conclusions on a style based on just the negative things they've seen...
Oh, I thought when you said:
I thought they had already swung at you already and you took care of it. I understand about just walking away if they haven't made a move.
Did you went ahead and smacked them around anyway?
Or wear metal armor that has spikes all over it before you leave the house. So you'll be a walking porcupine. :p
Have a look at Samo Hung. He may not be 6'3", but he's not as light as a feather either. There is no excuse. ;)
Thanks. I wish we had a couple more days of practice before we filmed it. After we learned the choreography and practice for over an hour, Pete pushed to have it filmed right away so the result...
Someone mentioned to me that Wing Chun is a combination of Snake and Crane. I can see the similarities of some of the Wing Chun movements in our White Crane. Wing Chun movements seem stiffer...
Zero Gravity's really good. I like the old school stuff that KWOON done. www.thekwoon.com
I did some home made movies before and they can be fun. But choreographing a fight really challenges...
In Musashi's Book Of Five Rings, Musashi talks of a strategy when you fight multiple opponents.
"The Water Book
There are Many Enemies
"There are many enemies" applies when you are fighting...
Will the real Buddha Fist please stand up? :p
You do it to enjoy the challenge. It is definitely hard. But good things never really came easy. If you can endure hard training sessions of Kung Fu, you learn to overcome hard and difficult times...
I used to train in Wah Lum for a couple years back in 93' - 96'. It's definitely a good work out that will bring you back into shape.
I study with Dr. Yang in Boston. Our White Crane is southern and in southern Crane, hands is the emphasis. Kicks are there but not as great in variety as our Long Fist. In our crane, the power is...
