Without the language and 3 months time you won't learn much. :)
Also southwest China is like a quarter Europe, so where? Anyway you can check this guy:
...
Some twenty years ago there were Foshan Yongchun posters everywhere. I bumped into a Deng family Xiajia quan school (somewhere near the old mosque if not mistaken) too. :)
From niudor.com you can...
I don't know, maybe it's the language thing.. You mean to say forms, are merely a tool in process of learning? If so, I agree with you. :)
Do you know many chinese traditional styles that neglect jibengong in favor of forms training? You have to train both. Firstly be good at the jibengongs, danxiang lianxi etc.. Sure. But then it is...
Was thinking about 18th street mahua - 十八街麻花. :)
Cool. It should be Tianjin shuaijiao rather than Baoding. ;)
I'm glad then. If you go to HK school, please send regards to master Mei from Polish Beijing chuojiaofanzi guy. :)
There's Jiangsu Chuojiao over there taught by Mei Dehao:

You may check it.
Baiyuan tongbei and Qi jia tongbei are listed as separate branches with their own lineages now, but it may be that Qijia is an offspring of baiyuan. I don't really know.
Yes, tongbei. Qi jia tongbei (祁家通背), or Qi shi (祁氏) to be precise.
Master Yu Tiancheng demonstrating some methods:

Think I saw footage from this event before, but different angle.
You can see him moving a bit...
Interesting. Thanks.
You may take a look at the pic below (alas of poor quality) that shows Chinese daos at the Warsaw Military Museum (mainly from XIX century as I recall):
Cool. Thanks. How old is it?
It has almost no curvature. More of a falchion than a sabre. :)
Very nice. What is the weight of this sabre, the overall length as well as the blade and hilt length? If you can let us know the width at forte and at blade's widest place, it would be cool too....
Hi,
it seems that there's a Hao jia Tanglang (郝家螳螂) school in Seul (Gwanak-gu).
their website: http://www.hakgamun.com/
film about this mantis boxing school:...
There's a school of Chuojiao (Jiangsu branch) in HK that I know and think they're ok.
They train at Ma On Shan (馬鞍山) area in the New Territories.
Wouldn't it be more reasonable to cross the border and buy things you need in Shenzhen? Cheaper, I guess.
random sites:

...
If you read chinese, here's a good site with schools and teachers listed:
http://www.niudor.com/
You can search by province/city or style.
I'm sure that this 腰圆-背弓-头顶天/yao yuan-bei gong-tou ding tian (round lower back, arched upper back, head presses against the sky) concept is quite common amongst northern styles (some at least). Not...
This comic book is minxy. ;) Thanks for both links.
And if someone wants more of Quan Er, here you can read the Chinese translation of other episodes:

It may be 姜庚芳 (Jiang Kangfang in pinyin).

Here's the address of Harbin Traditional Martial Arts Association:
哈尔滨传统武术协会
南岗区和兴路50号(哈师大主楼)
Looks like it's located at the Harbin Shifan Daxue (Harbin Normal University).
There's Meihua Tanglang for sure:

I'm sure you'll be able to find many other styles as well.
You might check if there's any Chuojiao left in...
