Hey Diego..
I'm interested in hearing more about your Bak Mei training. I'm actually about to start training in Bak Mei myself. I'm a big guy and 51 yrs old... Wanted something a bit different...
Thanks!
It was a blessing to not only train with my Sifu but to get to actually know him! He was very private and let few into his circle. He accepted me and became a very special person in my...
Gene,
I actually get to train with Wayne tonight... I'm Really looking forward to that! We still have sifu's son also... So we still have access to a lot of Hak fu mun. Would give anything to...
Thanks everyone!
Still hasn't really set in yet... I keep waiting for him to call me and hear him laugh and say "yeah Jeff":(
He always had this little chuckle before he said my name...
Thanks David!
Thanks Dale!
I was blessed to happen across those issues and Wayne responding made my dreams come true! Sifu hadn't taught in over 8 yrs when I contacted him... it...
Thanks Gene!
It was those articles that led me to search out my sifu... I contacted Wayne through them. He gave me sifu's phone number and my journey begun under the best martial artist I've ever...
I know he hates me spending my time on martial arts forums... but I had to in this case. :(
My sifu, father, and friend Kuen "Fred" Woo passed away last night. I still feel like I'm in a bad...
I was trying to give a starting point... not give an inexperienced person without a teacher more advanced methods without supervision. Just offering my .02 cents to the discussion.:)
a simple way to condition the arms... we actually did this in my black tiger training. Start out with about 15-20 chopsticks or small dowels. Wrap them in rubberbands at each end. Slowly bang them...
Wing Chun takes a lot of abuse on the forums huh?
I use to try and do this as well but haven't in about 3-4 yrs now... the last time I trained with some guys they were a lot more experienced (they were BJJ guys) but, I was a lot bigger than the guys...
yeah be careful with this stuff... my training brother broke his arm going too hard against a wooden dummy (actually a 8ft tree stump cut and turned smooth)
I agree with this... anytime I train I'm always the biggest guy so I always train with smaller guys. Not many guys my size training in CMA or anything other than maybe football!:D
I've always...

:D
We have similar sets... but, we stress not leaving the pit of the under arm exposed like in the video! We have techniques we train to attack that particular area when exposed....
Yes there are techniques that are more effective than others.. I would agree that certain styles are more effective than others also but, it depends on what we're talking about. I would expect a TKD...
Agreed!
Saw him many many yrs ago I think it was 1996 at a Masters demo... man impressed me so much that today it's still one of my great MA experiences!
+1 this!
good points!
I think this is correct... too many people don't really understand how to transition either! We train a lot of footwork in Hak Fu Mun but, a lot of it is hopping or shuffling for creating or closing...
From my experience all martial arts have something useful! It all comes down to how it's taught, trained and absorbed/used... I think too much cma training is taught in a counter productive manner....
I can understand in mental cases... a lot of the problems here are the young wanna be tough guys! They are so busy trying to impress others and show their toughness. They don't want to seem weak in...
It's crazy the way they allow inmates to get away with this stuff! I'm in 6the process of joining the Corrections Dept here in Florida and some of the stuff I hear is crazy! I have a cousin that...
+1This!
From what I can make from the video this is the best option!
I can understand what he's saying... It might be a ploy for money but, I could understand if it's not also. I look at it like this... one of them will have to leave their comfort zone (weight) for...
We train this a lot but, the kick would be attacking the knee or shin while the opponent stepped forward to attack. In a sense stepping on the knee or down across the shin. The upper attack would...
